Should only takes us about 3 pages of posts to figure out the best vanilla for a root beer float......... my vote is Breyers
Dean's or Country Fresh here-- they are one and the same (only because it is about the only local regional creamery around here). They even make Stroh's ice cream (at least around here). It will come in commercial 3 gallon tubs.
Regardless, they make good ice cream.

You guys are buying the ice cream so MakeMyDay can get a root beer float!
We could always make homemade ice cream too! Oh now that sounds like a plan...Noel you get to supply the straws and we'll have some fun seeing what they are made of by then!
I got 10 cases of these coming Thursday. I have a small chest freezer that I am going to load them up in (along with the ice cream for floats) for my 4th party.
I made apple jelly in those jars one year, used paraffin that I whipped up to froth and covered the lids so it looked like beers. I used to make most of our Christmas gifts and everyone loved them!

For root beer floats with A&W and vanilla ice cream, I would be happy to.
I had a Dad's diet Root beer the other day. It was good.
