A little upgrade...

gatorgator Posts: 1,746 Senior Member
Decided to get a better trail/hunting rig.
Have a Kawasaki Mule 610 and intend to keep it for hauling tools and whatnot at the school.
Bought a Polaris Ranger 900Xp in military tan.
Only problem is it won't fit on the 5 foot wide trailer that I used to haul the mule around on,so I sold it and bought a 7 foot wide one.
So here's a pic of the new ride and the new ride's new ride.

    I can’t believe that you don’t have a gator...

If Gator were a tailgater, having ridden over on his Gator, while wearing gaiters.....well I think that would be just special.

Very nice, and a good trailer, too.

I have a 2005 two-seater Mule, and it is about the handiest piece of equipment I have ever owned. It will go almost anywhere that it doesn't high-center, crawl through deep mud and shallow sloughs, and haul four big men and their gear. It's great for utility work around my rural home, too.

Well you win the prize for saying Gator the most times in one sentence.

Nice ride, you will love it. Thirteen inches of clearance, and power out the wazoo. I have got ours up to seventy and then chickened out before the rev limiter kicked in.

That's a sweet rig.  Dump bed on it, I presume?

Took her out and cruised the farm roads, nothing special just following the break in rules. This it truly an upgrade from the mule. At more than twice the cost it better be.
The only advantage the mule has is storage, it has a trunk that will hold a bunch of stuff where as the ranger only has a couple of small boxes under the seats.
However the Ranger has a much bigger box on the back so I'm thinking about getting a mini truck cross bed toolbox, one of the low profile ones, if I can find one that's not so wide and takes up too much room.
I will say this thing has more power than I will probably ever use, and hands down a much better suspension. Night and day different than the mule.
I am contemplating removing all the Polaris and Ranger stickers to make her not so much of a advertising billboard and show more of the tan color that I really like. The first thing I did was peel off all the safety warning stickers cause they are ugly and just the lawyers requirements for people without any common sense.

I like it! And the trailer upgrade, too. Needs a 5.56 Dillon Aero roof mount mini gun, for those 'special occasions! :D

Very nice!   I really like the color.
I have an 800XP , I don't know how we lived without it!   We use it for everything.  So powerful, versatile.
I bought a little 4x8 Harbor Freight trailer, put a bed and removable stake sides on it, works perfectly for firewood and yard work.
I homemade a roof out of a sheet of aluminum diamond plate.

I too have been  thinking of making a roof out of aluminum diamond plate.
I have a set of springs and an axle that I plan to build a trailer out of once I find the time.
Lowes has a nice looking black diamond plate Craftsman box that I think would work nicely as a storage box for all the essentials.
