'God, Guns, and Freedom' (Oh! And a new Ford)!

This was posted on an automotive forum. Members I considered intelligent and well informed went 'bat scat' crazy over a gun being handed to anyone buying a new Ford. They spewed all of the popular anti gun rhetoric and were accusing the dealership of violating numerous firearm transfer laws. They obviously did not read the article. Their vitriol and ignorance caused the discussion to be closed. The customers were given a bible, flag, and a certificate redeemable at participating local FFL dealers. After successfully completing the same legal requirements required if they walked in and purchased the gun.

Its a non issue anymore.  Ford told the dealer they cant give away any guns, even if it is a certificate.

An issue for me. I have owned several Fords. I guess I won't be buying another one.

Ford told the dealer to stop due to the recent shooting at a Ford dealer in Ca. by an employee that was just terminated.

I know there are legal considerations, but if I was the dealer in question, I'd be sorely tempted to tell Ford to get their head bred.  

I'm a Ford guy.  This doesn't make me happy.
