The loaded round indicator spring was broken, and after ordering one from Al (who is practically the own parts dealer for older Walthers in America) and watching and rewatching a video on how to disassemble a Walther slide...there are only ten parts...and a few fumble fingered attempts I got 'er done.  The Internet is a good thing.

Good for you and yes the internet is a great thing!  

I was having ejection issues with my 12ga Winchester ‘97 so I finally got around to troubleshooting.  One video later I knew which part was broken and exactly how to fix it.  

Thank God that because of the popularity of the ‘97s for Cowboy Action Shooting there are plenty of parts out there.  Numrich is making new springs for them so I ordered two and the shotgun is now up and running!
