Believe in spirits?

I never have. In my whole life I had one experience . But think, probably wishful thinking.  For the entirety of our 22 years together my wife has mentioned several times that the Battlefields around Gettysburg are haunted. We have driven through there at night and the only thing I ever saw was deer, lots of deer.
We have been up here this week and spent the night at a friends. Woke up in the middle of the night and when I looked out the window it was foggy. Heard the sounds of and saw the shadows of horses in the pasture. Went back to bed and over morning coffee mentioned to Amy i saw her horses wandering around. She looked at me and said:  I dont have any horses, you must have saw deer. Nope I hardly saw them with the fog but heard them.
Long story short, the pasture of her small farm was one of the areas used to bury dead horses after some of the Civil War battles.  Talk about getting goose bumps

Im neutral. Never seen anything unusual.

The toll on livestock was certainly tremendous. I think I read that good horses were hard to come by for a long time in certain parts of the country after the war.

I believe in distilled spirits :)

actually, I have seen, heard and felt some freaky stuff.  Some of it very hard to explain without saying “ghosts”

August 13 2018 I experienced Sudden Cardiac Arrest. Technically, I was dead. There were no lights, no tunnel, no long lost relatives, no God awaiting me on the other side. Just lights out, like flipping a light switch. I don't know how long I was "dead". Maybe just not long enough to join the club (thankfully).

Three days later.....I kind of remember that day. Prior to that......nothing at all.

I don't really have a solid opinion on the matter, but in my limited experience it seems that dead is a pretty quiet place.

A few years back my wife told the waitress that was serving us at a pizza restaurant that her recently deceased grandma was standing right behind her and was angry at her because she was quitting nursing school.  She wanted my wife to tell her not to quit.  I’m cutting down a 20-30 minute episode to few sentences but there was a lot more.  Interesting to be in the middle of a restaurant and the waitress pull up a chair and starts crying because it was 100% on the money, and this girl KNEW this was really her grandma speaking to her through a complete stranger.  My wife was not asking her any questions, just passing information along like dictation.

Being married to someone that is “plugged” into the other side is really interesting.  As I said we could be here all day and, I’m FIRMLY CONVINCED we move on.

Been to Chickamauga, Lookout Mt., King's Mountain, and other battlefields where the casualties were over the top. In the summertime I've been to those battlefields and walked the trenches when it was hot sweaty weather, and had cold chills run up my spine and just feel like there's something there I can't see, but can definitely feel. And that feeling and the chill can be really strong around the marked mass graves from both sides. Never seen anything as to spirits, but have felt that cold and the 'you aren't alone here' feeling.
Felt the same way at the Normandy beaches where the American troops hit the beach and got mowed down by machine gun and rifle fire. And I was at the Normandy beaches in July and it was hot, and so was the slow moving breeze along the beaches. Then I'd get that cold feeling at some places, move away a bit and it would be hot again.
Restless spirits, I guess that haven't found peace.

I'm kinda on the line here.  I've had five experiences that were very difficult to nail down to coincidence.  My family thinks I'm psychic, but I don't.  Or if I am, I have no control over it.  So I just put those five experiences down to very large coincidences.

Any spirits I have encountered have been on the other side of a scotch n rocks.  Or several.

When we moved to our townhouse in Hollywood FL (Diver you were there) I used to get the chills every time I went past the guest bedroom.  I actually HATED going into that room and would avoid it all the time, it always gave me creeps like I felt someone did not want me to be there.  The room was perfectly normal, bright and beautifully decorated by my wife, there was no reason whatsoever for me to feel that way.

About a year after we moved in I finally noticed that there was a latch on the OUTSIDE of that bedroom door that was all they way on top, unobtrusive and hard to catch unless you were really looking for it, but obviously designed to lock someone in the room without the ability for them to unlock the door or leave through a window since it was a second floor room.

A few months after I found the curious latch, I asked the neighbors if they know why someone would do that and they told me that the previous owner had her elderly mother living with her and dementia had made her mom really angry, aggressive and agitated.  I was told by neighbors, they used to lock her in that room against her will for hours at a time!!!

I for sure felt that "cold feeling" when we visited Dachau in Germany. Toured the entire remains of the camp, but only felt it as I approached the showers (gas chambers).  My wife would not go in.

I have about as much psychic sensitivity as a brick. 3 times I've felt something that I identify with my patron Goddess - rightly or wrongly - but not much else. I can sometimes get a "sense of place" - "something happened here". Certain outside places in nature are obviously sacred, and I can feel energy in old churches around the altar area quite often.
HOWEVER - I've known enough people, including my wife - who have convinced me that they have had various forms of genuine contact. The conversation I had with one of my witchy friends regarding my late mother (who was in the piano at the time) was pretty interesting. Wife corroborates Diver's experience at Dachau, she was there when she was in High School.

My sister called me to tell me that our niece (my other sister’s daughter) was pregnant with a girl.   When I asked her how she knew she said my recently deceased father had told her in a dream the night before.

I called my other sister next day and she proudly announced that her daughter was pregnant.  I told her I knew because dad had already told our other sister.  9 months later my niece gave birth to a girl.

There have been several things I cannot explain happen to family members. My little brother swears that he met our paternal grandmother. Described her to a T, in her favorite dress. She died when he was 6 months old and there no pictures in the house of her.

My own experience was when I was around 12. I had just walked into the bedroom, and slipped under the covers. We had Princess, whom had died about 2 years prior, an English Springer Spaniel. I could not see the dog, but she felt her "jump" onto the bed and lay across the bottom of my legs, like she used to. This was a 60+ pound dog. I knew it was her for some reason.

Slipped my legs out from underneath her and got out of that room. Very odd.

Tequila makes me see strange things!

My wife and late son are and were psychic or connected as was my wife's grand mother. I've heard too much to disbelieve and I know none of them liked mushrooms.

I experienced something similar when deployed to the former Yugoslavia. Saturdays at Eagle Base, Bosnia locals were allowed to have a "flea market". My first Grandchild was due. A 7 or 8 year old Gypsy girl told me her grandmother had the "gift" and could tell the future. Did I have a question? Of course this was the "usual" Gypsy scam but we were supposed to maintain community relations so I replied yes. I asked if my grandchild would be a boy or girl. The old woman placed her hands over and under mine. The granddaughter translated that it would be a girl who would have the "gift" knowing things that others did not. It was the truth. My Granddaughter did know things she should have no knowledge of. (reincarnation?). Her grandmother and I were flying to Europe across the Atlantic Ocean. She told me she dreamed she was in a airplane but it fell in the water and she "choked"! Her grandmother is a 6th generation US citizen of Mexican descent. Their culture can be very superstitious so I did not mention it until we had safely returned.

    Absolutely not.

But I believe my wife that she believes that there's "something" out there; runs in her family and once they even had to move from a rented house according to them due to the extremely phisycal situations they faced. Later they learned that that house belonged to a college professor who was grusomely murdered by a couple of his students during a gay orgy.

Under no circumstances I can feave one of my milsurp guns in the bedroom during the night or she'll be seeing soldiers marching around the room; as long as they stay on the safe, everything is OK. She also says there's an old lady hanging around the house, and in an apartment she shared for a while with her sister's family she claimed there was a small child playing pranks to her.

Meanwhile I'm dead asleep seeing or feeling nothing. While single slept sorrounded by my whole milsurp collection and nothing. I ask her how often she has such "interactions" and knowing I'm a complete sceptic she just says "a lot". Closest to the "I see dead people" child I've ever heard of, but it doesn't harm her everyday life at all other than a little startling and assuming it as completely natural.

Don't care if she believes seeing unicorns; I don't so there aren't real.

I picked up two separate rifles from a used gun rack within a few weeks of each other.  For some reason I HAD TO BUY these two guns.  They just spoke to me.

Come to find out both gun belonged to a recently deceased gentleman and the widow had brought them up to be sold a few weeks apart.
