They said it might break the PA record. Depends on the skull size. One of the guys I was in scouts with just got one that was 327 closer to home.

The estimated live weight is believable with the accurate carcass weight. 

Pennsylvania has a few big bears killed every year over 500lb. The coast of North Carolina consistently produces the biggest black bear in the world on weight.

I saw one at our at our butcher on the scales that went 410 pounds...that was a very big bear...hard to imagine one twice that size...

Pa holds records and has for years on Black Bear.12 Probably 13 now, of the top 25 Black bears on record are from here. Mostly from NEPA.
