Bloomberg is really running

People say they are tired of rich old guys running for office.
If this guy were to win he will turn he will turn 79 a month after taking office. Most people would call that old.  Last time I saw him on TV he looked pretty white to me and by all accounts being worth 54 billion is pretty rich. Personally I believe his politics suck, but in all honesty all I really know about him is that he hates guns, does not believe anyone should have one. Says Trump sucks, and believe in Government controlling our lives.

Like I said in another thread, an old, rich, white, party switcher, NYC billionaire that hates guns should be what many of you here seem to want. How the hell are you going to vote with identical choices?

I guess at least Bloomberg really is a self made billionaire (unlike the other guy).

Jerm you are almost always spot on with facts. This one not so much. You realize 2 of those five he did nothing but take money to use his name? The casino in Vegas? One of hundreds and the man has owned hundreds of companies over the years.  The man is a Richard, no argument, he does and says enough stupid stuff for real, you don't need to follow the media

Yes. You sucker people into lending money to one of your hundreds of individual "businesses" syphon all the money from said business into your own pocket or to other businesses you own and then declare bankruptcy on the specific one that borrowed the money leaving your lenders holding the bag. A perfectly normal and reasonable business practice.

Anyway, nobody is ever going to convince me that going bankrupt is "smart business" no matter how many LLC's they own. I personally have 5 LLC's and none has gone bankrupt. I could probably take the .430 SJS into it, but I have something Trump doesn't... honor. I honor my debts. Those bills got paid. Your savoir doesn't seem to have the same ethics that I do.

I pay all my subcontractors the negotiated price after they have completed their work and do it promptly. Trump thinks it is "good business" to not do so.

I got a client that owes me some serious cash going on 90 days this week. They were supposed to pay in 10 days. I don't really care what their client did, but they hired me... not their client. That is between them.

I empathised with you during the government shutdown and how you and your wife weren't getting paid. Now put yourself in my position. If someone owed you $20k and delayed payment and maybe wanted to negotiate that down some... would you like that guy? Trump is one of those people. I don't like scum like that. They make my life hell.

You are mistaken. I really am not a fan of Trump. I do not like the things he says and some he has done. With that said, I hate the way the left and media has totally demonized him and his. They even attempted to attack his young son until their own said stop.
He has really done enough things I call wrong. They do not need to keep fabricating more. The false accusation are nothing but a smear campaign to discredit him before the election.

I find the following interesting about Bloomberg.

1)  Bernie and Elizabeth are screaming bloody murder that he's joining the race.  That's a plus in my column, even though I don't like the man or his policies.

2)  He backed up his own bus over his own foot with the reversal of his stance on "stop and frisk".  There's nothing that expedites quite like political expediency.  This sort of reminds me of Biden's change of heart about Anita Hill.

3)  His own news organization, Bloomberg News, will not cover him or any of his fellow democrats who are running for office, but will cover Trump.  It's his company, so I guess he can do with it as he pleases.

4)  He has publicly stated his campaign will be entirely self funded, which, I think, eliminates him from participating in the democrat debates.  It will be interesting to see how much he is willing to spend.

5)  He is going to skip the first 4 primaries/caucuses, and not get involved until super Tuesday.

6)  He will be running anti-Trump ads all over the country to the tune of $30 million.

That's all I can think of for now.  Personally, I don't think he has a snowball's chance to get the nomination, but what do I know?  Maybe he will run as a 3rd party candidate.  That would show Trump!

His anti Trump TV Commercials already started playing down here.  
Last night I watched closely.  All it says is that my policies are better than Trump, Trump is bad.  Not one mention of what he will do.  Even my wife who hates Trump as much as some on here thinks him being re elected would be better than Bloomberg, she considers his politics scary for our nation.

This all sounds like a weak attempt to do an end-run around the process, and I certainly don't think it will gain him much support from the DNC, will probably only serve to fracture the DNC vote further.  I can't see how him deciding to play this late in the game does that side any favors.

Hell, this election will be about the same thing for me as the last one was - SCOTUS first and last.  If Trump's next pick makes Dianne Feinstein's head explode like his last one did, that alone is worth the price of admission!
