Dude, you make it sound like you are disappointed! Move that target back with this setup, range report!
Not disappointed, I just don’t want it for a heavy “precision” gun. More a tote around rough and tumble.
I doubt I’ll push target much further than 2-300.
Well, it sounds like it covers all these bases, stick your toe in that trigger guard and ring some steel at 600
I do not know if my toe is strong enough to pull that trigger. 😳
I’ve decided, after I shoot a deer with it this weekend (hopefully), that I’m either gonna put an EoTech w/ 3x Magnifier that I have on it, or get that 1-4x Leupold.

Ok, I didn’t feel like hunting today. Kinda burnt out. But, I DID feel like shooting guns. So........I swapped optics on the C308, took the bipod off the forend, and removed the cheek piece.
EoTech w/ 3x Extender on Swing Lever.
Now THAT...........is a battle rifle!!!
Sighted in at 50 yards with 165gr Tac Bonded and 168gr A-Max.
Then fired one round at 100 yards with the 168gr A-Max to check impact.
Now THAT.........is a battle rifle!!
I am finally happy.

I let the boy shoot it for the first time this evening. He’s never shot a rifle this heavy or with this much recoil, offhand.
Set the target at 25 yards and told him to aim at the middle of the pink.
He handled the recoil without issue and hit the target exactly where the rifle should impact at 25yrds with a 50yrd zero. Bottom of the Bull. The boy is a Machine!
Comparing the pics, the muzzle starts at the bottom of the wood pile and doesn’t go higher than the top. I know men that can’t handle the muzzle rise as well as that. Let alone hit the intended target offhand.
He’s doing well.

He has had a good instructor and dad that instilled the value of following instruction. Me thinks some hereditary natural talent also. After all you have near identical facial features

Had a HK 91 back in the 80s. Never mounted a scope on it, but it was battle-rifle accurate with the irons. I only had two problems...first, in the prone position the rifle stock kicked my cheek, and second, I could never get familiar with removing/reinstalling the bolt, although I feel certain that would have come with experience.
On the CETME I had, don't think I cleaned it before selling it a short time after I bought it. Sold it and a FAL at the same time, maybe to the same person through my FFL dealer. My last 7.62 battle rifles I ever bought.
Concealed carry is for protection, open carry is for attention.
