Anyone figure this out?

Had my trail cam out last couple days and got a few pictures, question is what did I get a picture of.

a few minutes later this.

then this.

Then back to normal.

Kinda reminds me of an insect on the lens. Camera apertures are pretty small so insects or anything else very close up look huge.

I'll copy the pics to my computer and take a closer look.

I doubt any flying insects have hatched in his neck of the woods yet, we did come across a wooly caterpillar when we were walking today. Squirrels were running amok today, that would be my guess. 

A squirrel out at night would be odd though.

The pic with the strands hanging down look like hair. Porcupine quills are straight or have dark tips. Long curly hair is on some breeds of domestic dogs and cats. Most wild canines and felines as well as other mammals in the NA wild seem to have straight hair. Even on the tail.

Another oddity is that in that sequence of pictures one of them is all white.

How high off the ground is it mounted? On a tree? A post?
We've had some real dandy mystery pics over the years, always seem to figure it out eventually.

Zooming out gives a better picture.

A racoon? Whiskers and the ear, in separate pics?

Seems there's almost nothing they can't climb, often just to have a look. Hell, we've had them swim across the pond and work up the steel pole (with wet feet) that had our Wood Duck nesting box, just to raid it.
