Ready for the range tomorrow (hopefully). AR and FAL now wearing glass...

I want to see what the potential on these two rifles is.  I found a good FAL cover that accepts Weaver rings so I mounted a Leupold 4.5-14 VX-III I had laying around waiting for purpose in a cheap ass set of high see through rings because there was not enough clearance using the other rings I had (all low).  The railed cover just fell into place with no tweaking and it is TIGHT and so is the lower/upper so let's see what it will do.  If it doesn't do much better with glass I can just take it off, sell it on eBay and no harm no foul, the gun is back to what I started with.  If t does I'll probably follow Zee's example and order a suitable 1-4 scope for it, mount it in better QD rings and call it good.

The C7 just got an inexpensive Simmons 2.5-10x50 that I was going to adjust the parallax on and slap on a bull barreled rimfire at some point.  Actually I'm surprised as to how clear this glass is.  But a again it will not live here permanently.  This is just to give the gun the best chance at showing me what it's got so I can make some decisions.  Hopefully the weather cooperates.  Those big storms blew through today so it looks like it will be nice tomorrow.

    Two for Tuesday.

If you come home without a smile, you better try three for Wednesday.

It’s not marked but it’s really heavy duty metal.  Bought it off a guy on GB for a really good price.   Low enough to make the experiment worthwhile.

I was never able to shoot an AR with glass on the carry handle, hope you have better luck.  Looking forward to your report

That’s the configuration of my original AR so I’m good.  Hope I can get out tomorrow.  Itching to get some trigger time with these rifles!!!

Please shoot the FAL over 100 yds so Zee will get motivated to stretch his out ;)

I’m getting old and not as flexible as I used to be.  Can I just punch myself in the nuts? 😱

Seriously they came with a gun I bought and I took them off as soon as I got to the house but I never throw anything gun related out so...

You and Zee, promising some "long" range shooting with these .308's and not following through, for shame :s .

My wife decide this spring ALL landscaping was being changed.  Outside of trees everything must go and be replaced or moved.  Guess what I’m doing EVERY free minute I have...

Ya NUT, have ypu not explained how moving plants is not good for them?  That the nearby other plants, grass, and trees have made friends, and those that remain will get sick from missing them?  Plants have feelings too, don'tcha know?

I told her that.  She says it’s time for them to mingle.  She’s had great luck moving stuff around even stuff the landscaping guy said would die.  She’s either got a great touch or she’s a witch.  The Jury’s still out on that one...

Mine used to be like that, then YouTube happened.  Now I have a sun room full of freaking orchids that seem to never stop flowering.  It's nuts!

You have to go to the gardening store for ,,,, lime. Yeah, thats the ticket lime. They wont have any, so you will have to search all afternoon to find a bag. If she asks why you have rifles in the car, lie.

Better yet, you can bring back some gravel from the parking lot at the range and say you got the lime in pellet form...

If she is that good at it she doesn't need your help, right?  "But honey!  You are the Plant-whisperer.  If I touch them they will die...."
