I'm not a huge hummus fan, but my wife makes a white-bean version that reeks of garlic. I do like that one.

I think this recipe came from Orchidman a few years back....chickpeas in this one. Another one of the white bean family, I think? I can't tell them apart. If Alec happens across this he might know.

My wife does NOT like chickpeas/garbanzo beans. So I make a white bean version as well with avocado. Not much to look at but tasty!

I HATE chickpeas and garbonzo beans. But, the white bean version I really like. I think it's more a texture thing than taste thing. Sort of like I love blackeyed peas, but my wife practically barfs even thinking of chewing one.

This reminds me of when a co-worker explained the difference between a chick pea and a garbanzo bean.
He told me he never had a garbanzo bean on his chest. 😯

    That's all I got.

Yep, I always make the recipe when the homestead is booked for a family function.......it keeps the rellies from wanting to get too close........and I make enough to have it as one of the nibbles so that when they leave it keeps them distanced from other people. Its part of my service to the public at large...............

Real tzatziki would go well with that...  :D

Funny you mention that. Late Friday afternoon (I was at work) the doorbell rang and before my wife made it to the door, the ringer was driving off. Grubhub, or something like that, had left $83.63 worth of Med food on our doorstep. When the wife called the restaurant they told her, "Lucky day for you, we can't accept returns. The purchaser will get a complete refund and re-delivery. Thanks for calling".

That stuff was great. A little skimpy on tzatzike sauce, but the wife remedied that this morning. I just finished napping off the last of the spread.

I had never heard of tzatziki until your post - now I've got a new project for tomorrow. We may never get my zip code fumigated.

You need to do it, Bob. It's not smelly like garlic, but it sure improves a lot of dishes....especially those you're not real fond of.  :)

Real tzatziki is a salad, not a sauce, but they both have the same ingredients in them.  I've only found it in one restaurant here in the US so far.

I like hummus in general and we always have some around the house, but one of my local restaurants makes a black bean hummus that I absolutely love.  I have to try making it at home.
