I did it, I blew the $5 Mil...

JUST KIDDIN'!!!
But here's the original that is currently listed on GB for a cool $5,000,000

And HERE is my copy! I LOVE my C&R

According to Serial numbers they were even born the same year! Twins separated at birth. The front sight is not the same but I think the original is just a modified Ruger Blackhawk sight which I can get from Brownells for under $20, in any case it's close enough for what I want. Also mine had the back of the cylinder taken down so she will take .45acp in moon clips (better for my purposes and already ordered!!!) and the lanyard loop hole was welded up (I can fix that and lanyard loop was already ordered too). Biggest difference between the two is that mine WILL go bang!!!
Now JunkCollector understands my last email to him...

Product Description
Known as The Bapty, this revolver was used by Indiana Jones throughout the production of the motion picture Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. Raiders of the Lost Ark is the first movie in the adventure film series made famous in the early 80?s by creator George Lucas, director Steven Spielberg, and actor Harrison Ford. Featuring serial number 37891, this revolver is a British contract Smith and Wesson Hand Ejector MKII revolver. Chambered in .455 Webley, the gun had been altered to fire blanks for safety on the movie set. This revolver was carefully selected and uniquely modified prior to the start of filming. The barrel was cut from six inches to four and a custom one of a kind Baughman-style steel front sight was installed. A patina was applied to the factory bluing to offer it the well worn look we would expect of the gun carried by the famous adventurer. It features Smith and Wesson factory diamond patterned walnut grips with gold medallion inlays. A standard lanyard ring sits underneath the frame.
This is one of two revolvers used by Ford during the production of Raiders. The second revolver, known as The Stembridge, was briefly used during the scenes where filming took place in the United States. The majority of Raiders was filmed overseas where Indy carried The Bapty. It is accepted that The Bapty was used in all Raiders scenes where Indy fired his revolver, including the Ravenwood Bar shootout, the infamous shooting of the Cairo Swordsman, the gunfight in the streets of Tunisia, and the rescuing of Marion Ravenwood from the nazis.
Bapty Limited was the armourer who supplied this revolver to the production crew. It sat safely in their vault from the time production wrapped in September of 1980 until it was sold at auction in 2006. Accompanying this revolver is a signed letter from Bapty Limited stating its authenticity.
Before it was sold at auction, the revolver was sympathetically de-activated in accordance with UK law. The Bapty is now incapable of firing real bullets so it is not classified as a firearm in the United States and it requires no firearm certificate to possess in the United Kingdom. Although this gun has been safely de-activated, the hammer, cylinder, and action all function as a Smith and Wesson hand ejector MKII revolver should. A certificate of de-activation from the London Proof House will accompany this sale.
Included is a signed letter describing this piece from Stephen Lane, the owner of the largest screen used movie memorabilia company in the world, Prop Store. The Prop Store Certificate of Authenticity is also provided with this sale which guarantees the description of this item is genuine. It is reinforced by a lifetime moneyback guarantee as outlined in Prop Store?s terms and conditions. The COA is transferable to each new owner of the piece throughout its lifetime, and each of those new owners will also enjoy the full security of its guarantee.
Indiana Jones and The Raiders of the Lost Ark was nominated for nine academy awards and won five. The American Movie Awards crowned Raiders as Best Film, Best Screenplay, and Best Director (Steven Spielberg). The American Film Institute ranks Indiana Jones as the number two hero of all time on the top 100 heroes and villains list. Raiders is ranked number 10 on the AFI?s list of the 100 most thrilling american films of the last 100 years. Raiders of the Lost Ark remains in the top 25 of the highest grossing films of all time after adjusting for inflation. The movie has been selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in the National Film Registry. Empire Magazine has ranked Raiders number two on the list of the 500 Greatest Movies of All Time.
In 1989, the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular show opened in Disney World and still operates to this day. Creative stunts are carried out live throughout the 30 minute performance, including Indiana Jones firing multiple shots with his beloved Smith and Wesson HE2 revolver. Disney acquired the Indiana Jones franchise in 2012 when they bought Lucas Film for $4 billion dollars and Disney has confirmed that the fifth Indiana Jones movie will be released July 9th, 2021. Harrison Ford is signed on to play the famous adventurer one last time and will be 78 years old when the movie comes out.
Granted my experience is with a .38 not a .45 acp; but, we never used a lanyard in peace time. Then in Vietnam that dinky part alu revolver they gave us did not have a swivel even when it was tied into a survival vest the paraloft people did it some other way----I forget.
Anyway the only use I had for the swivel was to hook my shooting hand little finger around the swivel because the wood grip was too small for me.
( repeated comment, I know, made for the new guys)
just get a Dillion.....
Let us know when you get the lanyard ring sorted out. This is a fun one!

I take my hat off to you, a functioning tribute is so much cooler then a neutered original.
Now, what can you tell me about that sweet Barlow?
