Whats everyone been up to lately?

I took a little hiatus from here and missed a lot. I had a daughter get married, lost my mom to Alzheimer’s in October, and the wife had a stroke at moms funeral. I know, really crappy timing. Kim made a full recovery and was back to work within two months. My son is in the Army and in Kuait/Afghanistan until December and the three youngest left at home are attending High school from home due to Covid 19. Been out turkey hunting and doing a lot of fishing here, and a lot of nothing else. Hope everyone is doing well here and not effected by this virus. I have lost 7 close friends to it, but they had various pre existing issues. It’s also one of the risks we take in our public safety profession being in the public daily. Stay safe and healthy, and I look forward to being active here again.

Thank you! It was a lot, but a blessing at the same time. Things could have been much worse, but I got a second chance with my wife. Made me reevaluate a lot of things and I will never take things for granted again. I’m blessed in many ways and now I se that.

I'd like to report Im doing great things in a big way, but there's no point in adding lies to the deficit.

Life has been interest for sure.  High point was we celebrated wife’s 5 anniversary from the big C and with her type of cancer that’s a huge one.  Lots of ups and downs but still in the fight.  Glad you’re back!

Welcome back. Hope everything stays on an even keel for you.

    welcome back,

sorry to hear about your mom and wife.   life can suck at times.

still looking for work and keeping busy.  volunteer at the local food bank every week now.  Then had to PEX the house.   It done.  got my 1/2 bath done last week, but working out some minor issues with some NPT fittings.

while doing the PEX, removed some shelving in the bathroom and made it adjustable.  Now making some 2 off drawer units for the shelf.  May make 1 more later.

Added a GFI near the sink and an outlet at the top the stairs.

want to add a hallway light but need to figure out where to tap off to get power.

then will move outside to work on the window trim.  Scraping, painting and caulking...

also want to get out and wash/polish/wax my car when it stops raining for a while.

im sure there are other things to do, just waiting for things to open up and take some cooking classes while looking for work.

Glad to hear your wife recovered fast.  Condolences for the friends you lost. Sometimes life comes at you sideways. But reevaluating what is important is a good thing. Hope the rest of the year treats you kindly!

    Welcome back, Axe.

If I told you all that I've been doing for the past 10 months you'd be bored to death.  Pretty much SOSO.

Welcome back.  MIL is in home for Alzeimers.   Glad wifey-poo made a recovery.

Teaching online, fishing, shooting, and retiring.  Weird year for last year, but oh well.

My mom passed away from Alzheimer’s in October. It is a brutal disease that took her brother and sister as well last year. It most certainly has been a weird year, hope to get back to normal sometime soon!

Boring sounds good about now. I’m ready to head south and enjoy quiet time.

Better not let the wife see this post, I have a whole honey do list to catch up on. We are over, or past the suck factor and just dealing with the kids being home for the rest of the school year. Planning my eventual range time and vacation time now.
