Late to the party, but nice grab!  That had to feel good, getting that one back.

Picked her up this morning, grabbed the Little Man and headed to the range to try her out.

Set a target at 10 yards and shot a 5 round group using the 148gr HBWC Target Loads (taped hole from the Ruger PC Charger Pistol last week - I always reuse my targets.)

A hair low and about an inch right. Good enough for target work. Consequently, the loads clock 675 fps out of the revolver.
I might need to shoot a pig with them. Just to see if they work defensively as well.
Once I knew the gun worked safely, I gave the boy his first lesson on using a double action revolver. This was his first time. Set a TQ15 Target at 7 yards and told him to hold center mass.

    We started with single action.

Recoil was mild for him and the rounds a little Smokey.

The trigger ain’t bad. It’s not S&W nice, but it ain’t Charter Arms bad either.

After some double action work and learning to reload, The young man had me enough brass to start handloading with.

Pretty proud of the boy and his first DA Revolver endeavor.

We also tried some CCI No.9 snake shot.
Boy fired first at about 2 yards.

I fired a shot from about 4 yards.

Should make a snake at least think twice.

    Great times!
You have a right to be proud.  Glad you could get out, it has been pouring rain here since Saturday.

And it fits nicely in the Galco I got for my 340 M&P years ago!

Before, it was like I dragged him along. He’s now seeming to like/want to shoot and try new things.
    That......makes me smile.

I bought my M88 new  early 90s and after having it for about 20 years my brother talked me out of it. He felt so bad about it he gave it back to me about three years ago. Said he had never even fired it.

Very interested to see how those work. What charge are you going to put under it?

Don’t know yet. Probably try a max load of Trail Boss and a standard load of Unique.

That’s a big hole!  Now that I’m starting to gear up for reloading again, highly interested in Unique results.

    These could be interesting.

Factory Second Bullets 38 Caliber (357 Diameter) 130 Grain Jacketed Hollow Point Box of 100 (Bulk Packaged)

    Currently $16.09 per 100 (16 ¢ per bullet)
I might have to grab some just to play with.

Those appear to be the HST bullets from the 38spcl load
