Mrs. Clean fell

NNNN Senior MemberPosts: 24,812 Senior Member
Clean fell down some steps and presently is in a lot of pain. She hit her head and has a goose egg there, bummed up one knee, and something is wrong with her arm or wrist.

She went to the emergency department by ambulance as they only let the patient in and there is nowhere to wait. She is home. Knee is somewhat better, swelling is down and she can walk on a flat surface. Arm is in a half cast with swelling down. Head checked out ok except for the goose egg.

She left the hospital with instructions to see an orthopedist via our family Dr. They said they could not see a break on the Xray; but, could not determine if it was broke or just sprained.

So in the morning we start the hunt for medical care.

I hope you find good care ASAP. Falls suck. My Mom's had to deal with their severe consequences. Best wishes for you both.

    Oh no!
Please give her my regards. Not good, nor fun. Prayers out from the swampland.

Ugh, I hope she dodged a fracture, just Prayed o:) Clean heals up quick and thankful she did not fracture a hip or a rib. She is going to be stiff in a day or so, stay on the moist heat and then ice, neither longer than 10 minutes, finish with ice, DO NOT just use heat, it will excite the immune response and it will swell more aggressively. Calendula or Arnica is good stuff on the bumps and contusions, Biofreeze is a good product too.

    Rest, lots of rest.
I'll be praying for her. Let's have faith that it's not too serious.
When in doubt a little R.I.C.E might help.

So sorry. I hope she feels better soon. I was getting off my lawn tractor on Saturday, lost my balance, tripped over the wheel arms in the front, and fell sideways flat on the ground. I wasn't hurt other than a scratch on my right leg, but could have been much worse. Us old people have to be more careful.

Family Doc took new x-ray----did not see a break------still being referred to orthopedics.

Got some pain meds-----20 min later Clean is asleep.

Thank Goddess. Hopefully she didn't tear soft tissue too badly - that can take longer to heal than bone! I cracked my 5th metatarsal in my right foot in Y2K in a dance accident. The bone healed in about 6 weeks, but I was off from dancing for 4 months while the rest of it healed.

Ned, you can tell her, Gravity's been a PROVEN fact for a LONG, LONG time. There isn't any need for her to test it

And to keep her from doing severe harm to you, feel free to tell her I'm the one that said it.
All kidding aside, glad there doesn't seem to be anything broken and that she's getting back to "normal"
