What if Biden ISN'T the nominee????

JerryBobCoJerryBobCo Posts: 8,227 Senior Member
Just for fun.

I saw something on FB (yeah, I know) that posited this notion.  With some of the extreme gaffe's that Biden has been making lately, and his seeming inability to utter a coherent sentence, who knows?

So, let's play Who Will the Dems Really Choose?

I suppose it could be Bernie.  The rap on him from the start is that he is just too far left to solidify the base.  However, ever since Joe was the last man standing, instead of moving to the center, he's been going further to the left.  So, a switch to Bernie might not be that much of a change.  At least Bernie can speak coherently.

If not Bolshevik Bernie, how about that old hag Hillary.  A lot of dems still like her, even though she brings a lot of baggage.  The Trump campaign would pound away at here for the fake Steele dossier and Benghazi.  I'm not sure she could swing it, especially since Trump beat her in '16.

Maybe it would be "America is a mean country" Michelle.  Unlike Hillary, she has never held public office, or campaigned for herself.  On the plus side, a lot of dems would see her as a return of Barry, so who knows?

That's as far as I can see in my crystal ball.  Anyone else wanna play?

"It was Cuomo all along". GunNut said it months ago, and I'm inclined to believe him.

I'd almost bet my next 12 retirement checks that it will be Biden. One thing, Biden has been leading Trump in the polls and they know he has a chance to beat Trump (or they think he does, I don't.)
Believe me, their first priority is to get a democrat, almost any would do, in the White House. This is their big priority and they think Biden has the best chance of doing that.

Another thing, they know Biden is teetering on disaster and they see that he's been leaning toward a leftist that will appeal to the socialist side. And so they will choose Biden if he gets the right VP pick.

I still think the polls are pretty wrong for a few reasons and I think Trump will prevail. The dems think that all the rioting is hurting Trump. I think it's helping him. People aren't totally cluless. They see what Trump is saying and what the demonrat leadership is saying and approving of it.

Whatever, we shall see. Just make sure you go vote.

Cuomo was the presumptive B plan all along which is why he ran all over De Blasio on the COVID national stage even though it was a NYC issue all along.  Unfortunately in his zeal to take it on he (and the dems) forgot the he is 1-Incompetent and 2-A Highly unlikeable fellow.  He screwed up so many times that he now has a lot of anchors around his neck, including his idiot brother who now EVERYONE hates too.  Every screw up made it into the National stage including the thousands of ventilators they found in storage when he said there was a huge shortage, and his direct order to have Sr. Facilities accept COVID patients which killed hundreds if not thousands.  Basically he screwed up ROYALLY on Prime Time.

The sad part is he is still the best plan B they have but I don’t think he is up for the humiliation.  I think at this point Biden is the only horse they have saddled and out of the stable and they have pretty much resigned themselves to this and probably to the thought they will lose again.  So I think most of the planning right now is for who will be positioned for 2020.

Of course Uncle Joe could have an unfortunate accident while campaigning and the VP pick, who I believe will be Rice,  outdoor step in at the last minute...

All i know is that we are headed for a rough time either way. If either side wins, the other will honestly think they were cheated and the supporters will come out of the wood work attempting retribution.

I see what you're saying, but with all the recent BLM riots and everything else making people "touchy," I have a feeling it's going to be unlike any time in the past.

I certainly hope you're right. I don't see how ANYBODY could support the Left between the Covid hysteria and the BLM/ANTIFA terrorist actions - but I have little faith in humanity right now...

Well I’ve been arming brand spanking new conservatives by the dozen every week...  I’ve never seen anything like this.  Booked CCL classes into November and two more ranges want to work with me now.

Hey I'm just glad we're finally making America great again. And personally, I'm looking forward to another four years of the greatest prosperity the country's ever known. And almost as important. Another four years of celebratory mood here on the boards.

I expect to be traveling for work again by Election Day.....I think I will make sure I am not traveling that week.  I don't care to get stranded somewhere.  Voting wise, I will be voting early.  I already know who I am voting for and I do not see anything happening that will change my mind.

It didn't take you guys to take this thread in a different direction than what I initially asked.  I can't say I'm surprised, as that's business as usual around here.

This reminds me of my answer when asked to give a one word answer to the question of how I describe myself.  My answer, of course, was "Doesn't follow instructions."   ;)

Well, there's that old AG heifer from California. She could be drafted at the convention. Couple of other women candidates also come to mind that could be nominated. I think Biden has had it; his mental state puts him in doubt and he's alienating the Black and Hispanic vote daily. Hillary is out, mainly because of Barr's digging into her shenanigans. Bernie is just too far left for a nomination, but the Left is moving far left pretty fast, so he's still a possibility.

Only prediction I have any faith in is this. Whoever wins in Nov. there will be civil unrest from the Left like you've never seen before. That alone just might explain the shortage of firearms and ammo on the shelves. Might be seriously interesting times in the big Democrat cities either way the election falls.

I think they are going to keep Biden hidden away as much as possible until after the convention. If he gets elected he won't last long after being sworn in. Then we will have Kamala or Susan for a president. That is scary.

Kamala "Microstamping" Harris is my #1 fear this time around. As AG in Commiefornia, she worked tirelessly against the citizenry.

Warren would be my guess.  They seem to have a stable of very lame horses at this point.

I don't see Harris as capable enough to roll the dice on, and Bernie was the object of the whole squeeze-out strategy.

Kinda thinking their whole game plan is going to come down to biding their time for the next four years.  The hard left tack they're taking is one problem; the lack of a platform beyond "I'm not Trump" is another.

I also have to wonder if they WANT to achieve the White House during this time of pandemic so they can just keep the blame game going, or if they will suddenly declare the pandemic magically over the instant they gain that office.

    Well Joe really isn't

On April 8, 2020, former Vice President Joe Biden became the presumptive nominee after Senator Bernie Sanders, the only other major candidate left, suspended his campaign and endorsed Biden a few days later.

From what I understand the Democratic part can throw anyone in there they want.  But, it is really too late for that.  However, there must be a reason he has not named a vice yet.  Waiting for Nancy and Chuck to tell him who to name?

Throw in  a wild card for ya. Actually a Joker. Hillary may throw her butt in the ring at the DNC. That would make for a 'hillaryous' three ring circus. Hillary and Kamala or Susan Rice! :D

All in all, between hair sniffing Creepy-Sleepy Uncle Joe and his cast of rejec....er candidates for VP I have never seen a more unlikeable group of humans assembled as a set in my entire life!!!!  Is there ANYONE in that ensemble that any one of us could ever be friends with?  Kamala and Warren in particular make me feel like I'm hearing fingernails screeching against a chalkboard when I'm just looking at them!!!  Then they open their mouths...  :s

I'd say that puts Harris in the pole position for the "if Biden gets the boot" 500.
