It's official - Biden's the pick

at least for now.
I watched some of his acceptance speech last night, and have to give him high marks for reading from a teleprompter while in an empty (maybe mostly empty) room with no distractions. His delivery was very good. Actually, much better than I expected.
I expect he will get a bump in the polls from this, as his congnitive abilities were in question. I also expect Trump will gain some of that back after the RNC.
Let the games begin.

In reality, there are few politicians alive that have a worse track record than Biden. No accomplishments, anti gun, caught in a International money scandal using his son for family gain. and on and on
If Trump will shut up, stick to a subject and stop mocking people he will be a shoo in
It will be because the incumbent self destructed. Seats in Congress will be similar.
I didn't watch the show. Also I think it may be a mistake to judge majority public opinion by the tone carried on the tv news.
A historical weather event is heading for the Gulf coast. The timing could be of importance here. There's also the continuing adjudication of Trump's gangsters. So far the mileage of such things has been negligible. That could change, or not.
This is the most dismal options of candidates I've seen in my life

I'm not a huge Trump fan. But the current choices seem to be gag or puke. I'm more worried about 2024 than 2020.

Four years from now. We could face a total loss of public confidence in our elective process, an economy so bad that people need government checks for stimulus, rioting in the streets, defunding of police, impeachment hearings, legal battles instead of legislation, civil unrest, gun and ammunition shortages due to panic buying, and unbearable television broadcasts............
Not to mention having all our guns taken away. Just like Obama did.
The horror, the horror, the horror............
We are looking at EXACTLY the same fear of the leftist agenda and leftist judge appointments that got Trump the victory four years ago.
Trump still has that original base, has picked up people that actually support him now, rather than just voted against Hillary, and the Dems have spent the last four years REALLY showing their true colors.
The Trump administration does have at least some laurels to rest on, whereas the Dem ticket is TRULY abysmal. I've got one relative who's been a lifelong opponent of Republicans who just decided to vote for Trump when the news came out that Harris was the VP pick.
We've had plenty of (largely Dem-sponsored) government mandated shutdowns due to COVID and NOBODY is loving that.
The sheer quantity of Biden's clear statements that he's after your money, guns, and freedoms provide for plenty of sound bytes that are NOT going to help him.
All of that goes if one has optimism about the intelligence of the American Voter. I'm on the fence on that one.
