Pelosi As President Per The Constitution

I am just now learning for the first time if the winner of a Presidential election is not finalized by Jan 20th, the Speaker of The House becomes the Interim-President.

Is this a disaster or what ?

I don't think it will be an issue. Even our DC heroes can get it done by Jan 20...

And I've heard the President becomes the Speaker.....interesting if true.

Can you imagine the stink if the Rs flip the house?  That would be just too, too sweet.

Does the losing candidate have to concede for the election results to stand?  I remember the mess in 2000 when there were a dozen or more recounts in Florida, and the election was finally decided by the Supreme Court.  However, in that election, it was very close, and there was only Florida in play.

I know that Hillary has told Biden not to concede, no matter what, but I wonder if it matters if Trump's margin of victory is big enough.  I would say the same to Trump if Biden wins by a sufficient margin.

I don't think a discrepancy would go unresolved clear into the third week of January.

When the reps flip the house the fires will be spectacular, specially in Dem controlled cities.  NY, LA, SanFran, Seattle, Chicago and Portland will BURN baby...

I do not believe that an election depends on one candidate conceding.  There are processes in place with election boards to call it.  When it gets messy is when it falls within the percentages of re-counts or when it is contested by the loser.

I'm a pessimist by nature, but my gut tells me Trump may win a squeaker....too close to call. But I'm betting Dems get both houses of Congress.

I think BIden/Harris will implode, and Trump will win bigger than he did last time around.  The dems will probably keep the house, but may lose a few seats.  I hope that the Rs keep the senate, or Trump will not be able to get decent judges approved, including the supremes.

If the Ds keep the house, they will continue trying to impeach Trump, though, regardless of the merit of their charges.

Pelosi does not become the pres. under our constitution. IIRC the house votes by state, ie if NY goes biden, biden gets 1 (one) vote

I'm more optimistic with regards to Congress.  I think many of the DNC players have so thoroughly soiled themselves with their rabid Trump bashing that a lot of folks who might not even like Trump are very turned off by their game.

I certainly think that the RNC talking point of "NYC, LA, SF, Chicago - just what good have Democrat leaders REALLY done for you?" is gaining hold.

I think the pick of Kamala Harris as VP did Biden ZERO favors.  Trump should add E.L.O.'s Evil Woman to his controversial musical playlist. :D

The coming election will be a Chicago style fixed fiasco. Team Biden has a staff of more than 600 attorneys to contest every swing precinct. One thing that individuals can do is volunteer as poll officers. Dems habitually staff these positions. To volunteer contact local election office. I and the Mrs have both signed up. Some states pay per day but it’s usually like jury duty pay. The staffers are the people that count and qualify mail in and absentee votes.
