Postponement of professional sports in "protest."

Yippie!!!! This is great news! Perhaps we'll have an entire year of not having to watch these idiots. I find that refreshing.

The country belongs to the extremists.

Two people refuse police commands. One enters the driver side of a vehicle. The other attempts entry of a store/gas station armed with a knife. Both are shot. One after being tased.

We are offered two contrasting narratives. 1) They're both innocent, and were murdered. 2) They or anyone else of color that broke a law represents all people of color, and all protestors etc....

Neither one is correct. But that doesn't matter. Pick a side.

The value of organised sports should have been questioned along time ago. Its all in need of a major trim.

Theyre just trying to save face for all the people boycotting them. Its like making fun of yourself before anyone else can do it first.

Well. . .since few would argue that arena sports in a time of airborne disease is a really dumb idea, and you probably shouldn't be playing anyway, these famous players with no other skills may be thinking they need to do something to stay in the spotlight somehow.

The protest angle of celebrity is something I can't wrap my brain around.  Sure, their opinion is as valid as anyone else's, but for the media to make it out to be MORE valid than anyone else's - and for anybody to swallow that line -  when that individual's ONLY claim to fame is ability to sing or throw a ball is a bit mystifying.  There are not a lot of PHDs in sociology in professional sports who could PROPERLY weigh in, so why is anyone acting like there are?

Not that I think it would solve much, but I kinda think we need some sort of national education campaign on things like the basic purpose of police, police procedure, legal use of force, and ummm. . .oh yeah, the fact that police were called to ALL of these scenes for a reason in the first place.

But for that to be effective, we probably need some preliminary education in critical thinking processes and forming reactions more complex than one's initial "feels".

The two basketball teams that were going to sit the rest of the season backtracked when they were told they'd have to take a 30% pay cut. Guess the money was more important than their 'principles'. :D

Wait, only 30% ? If I decided to not go to work it resulted in a 100% pay cut! Sign me the heck up. :'(

One of the good things about the pandemic is we have been able to live without the sportball foolishness.
It's boring, and your lack of creativity knows no bounds.

Growing up i enjoyed watching sports with my father when I wasn't playing baseball or swimming.  I slowly lost interest in watching any pro sports.  The money and attitudes totally tuened me away.
The big mouths today want to cry about being held back while they have more millions than many people will ever make in thousands in their lifetime.
Refusing to play a game to show support for BLM should result in a lifetime suspension from all sports.
