Adjusting head space

I recently bought a replacement bolt for a .410ga Wards Western Field mod. 93M-211A which is the same as a Mosberg mod.83b shotgun. The bolt will not close, no headspace at all. The bolt appears to be 1/16th inch too long. Is it possible to turn the barrel out one complete turn to give clearance? Any help at all will be appreciated. Thanks, Art

Are you trying to chamber a 3" or 2 3/4"?

It is chambered for a 3 inch shell

Make sure the bolt is properly assembled. There were a lot of variations over the years between the models, it may not be the correct bolt.
