Has anyone used Win 231 powder for 9mm loading its listed for the 3 bullet weights I have but its towards the bottom of the lists I have a ton of 9mm to load that I have everything for bullets, brass, and primers and would like to stay with one powder for all 3 so I just have to tweak the powder drop I have a new 5# can of win 231 to use if its ok I don't want to do a ton of loads that suck

What kind of loads do you plan to make? It's great for plinking, competition because it's economical and defense if you load it hot (there's better but it would work).
Winchester 231 is number (29) on the burn rate chart. Similar to Hodgdon Universal (#32), Alliant Unique (#31) or HP-38 at (#28). Accurate Arms No.2 comes in at (#25). The lower the number, the faster the burn rate. All of these powders make good economical loads for volume shooting so I ask again, what do you plan to make with them?

The use is for plinking and to have some ammo to use in the times that we are having right now I have a lot of people come to me asking about what gun to buy and to ask me to take them to shoot so I go through a lot of ammo that way I still have a lot of factory ammo put away but it is disappearing fast

Well, you have a good powder for making plinking loads. If you have a chronograph, you can even load up some rounds to mirror factory ball ammo. Great economical way to keep your gun skills sharp and you can still share your sport/hobby/past time with others without going broke.

    Have fun. 👍

    fwiw,

i used some 231 years ago when i started and felt it was too dirty.  Not sure if my crimp was wimpy or what, but i had alot of unburnt powder in my gun so i opted for other powders.

all you can do is to try some various loads in your 9 and see how they work for you.

    have fun.
