308 Winchester for some doe hunting later this week

    The center-grip 308 Winchester XP-100 drew first blood Friday afternoon-a hurried short shot at around 50-60 yards while doing the sneaky sneak on my way to place where I was going to sit for the rest of the day (no blind of any kind, just nature).  I didn't range before or check afterwards.  Dropped on the spot...More details and pics later.  The 168 grain Hornady A-Max performed admirably.  Plan on having smoked backstrap tomorrow evening with Dan E. and his family.  Dan tagged out about a half hour before sunset too with his 357 magnum revolver.  It was chilly, being in the teens most of the morning.
