vaccine

When the vaccine becomes available for you are you going to take it? In this state round 2 is supposed to be for essential workers, I am curious on how they are going to decide that. The only people I know that didn't keep working were school personal and some restaurants. Unless there is news about bad reactions with it I plan on taking it because of my risk factors. Mods if this should be in 2a please move it.

I work at the local high school and word is they really want us to get it but not mandatory. Already had covid so not sure if that changes anything.
From what I heard on the news today people with bad allergies should hold off getting the shots.

i just got a new job in the medical industry.

I may not have a choice.

I did have to get a tetanus booster and flu shot too for the position.

But it will be interesting to see if they have any for us peons and how long it takes for them to become available.  Our state is suppose to get 200k vaccines.  they said on the news that if they do 10K vaccines per day it will be a while....

i would get one just so i can take my 2020 vacation in 2021.

Nope. Flu shot nearly took me out in either 2011 or 2014, can't remember which. Im seemingly already over the covid except for slight difficulty in breathing which is off and on each day but bearable. Even so you couldn't pay me to take any medicine thats been rushed that fast to market AND has a no fault clause.

City of Miami starts curfew tonight at midnight.  Vaccine was approved
    Hopefully the combination helps.
Yea, I will get it.  Have had two exposures and think maybe we both had it back in March.

I’ll get it as soon as it’s offered to me. The alternative is get the virus and hope to be in the majority who survive it. If I haven’t already had it and didn’t know it. I have circumstances at home that would be a problem if I contracted the virus. And I work in a high risk job. Anti vaxxers can do their thing and I’ll do mine.

I'm going to watch carefully at first, but I certainly would like to get it. Makes more sense than a damn mask.

Does this mean you are having classes? Most of the schools around here are online.

Nope.  Just like the flu shot or pneumonia shot, I've never taken either, and never had the flu or pneumonia.

    I'll take my chances.

My school has had in person classes since August.

    I’ll probably get the vaccine.

I have some natural immunity already being I was sick with Covid last month. I’ll wait to see how vaccine works before getting it myself.

Being a front lines health care worker and seeing what this virus really does to people, I'll get the vaccine when it becomes available. Unless it has a side affect of death, it seems the lesser of the risks.

And that the vaccine only gets your bodys natural immune system to identify covid 19?

Not voluntarily. Not an anti-vaxer at all but the extremely fast R&D and approval process seems extremely tainted with political shenanigans for me to like it. Also the problem is that once again the local politicians and bureaucrats ruined the deals with the labs and apparently we won't be getting enough doses for extensive vaccination until late 2022!

Then why bother with a vaccine that may be ineffective six months from now?

A cautionary tale...Thalidomide was rushed into distribution in 1957...in 1962 it was pulled because it caused malformation of fetuses...and this was done to prevent morning sickness in pregnant women

Gotta appear like they are doing something, look at the track record for the flu vaccine every year, never have the right one in the mix. Follow the money.

I'm not arguing motives, Scott.  If the gooberment really wanted to put an end to this, it would let doctors prescribe Hydroxychloraquine as either a prophylactic or remedy.  It's only been around for 50 or 60 years to treat malaria, and up until now no one has complained about it being a dangerous drug.  But, as you stated, it's not about helping the masses.  It's about lining pockets.

All I'm saying is that I choose not to take the vaccine.  I won't demand that others do or don't.

My biggest worry is there rushing into this and no one knows what the long term effects are, I dont think I'll get a shot,  In my lifetime Iv'e had maybe 5 or 6 flu shots, never a pneumonia shot, so far Iv'e made it to 83, think I'll just take my chances.

Thalodomide is STILL used for skin cancer, leprosy and a few other things.

As someone who is already immuno-compromised I will get it when it becomes available. I've had enough close calls in my life. If Covid takes me....*shrugs*. Gotta die from something.
