New grip

A couple of years ago I was wearing my Ruger Mk II while planting food plots. I got fertilizer on it so I decided to spray it down with some gun cleaning spray I had bought. Needless to say it damaged the plastic grip panels. I put it in the gun safe and kinda forgot about it. 

I finally ordered a Hogue grip from Ruger last weekend. I installed it today. 

I really like the way it feels. I know some people don’t like finger grooves, but these fit me just right. It doesn’t interfere with the bolt release or safety so no trimming was required.  I hope to shoot it later today. 

So far, I think it’s worth the $24.99.

Looks good. Not personally a hogue finger groove fan.  But, it looks good on your gun👍🏻👍🏻

I don’t think I’ve ever held a pistol with finger groove grips. This one feels very comfortable.

Just ran out to the pasture for a quick try out at a laundry detergent jug. 

I definitely like this grip. Can’t say it made me a better shooter, but it is very comfortable.  As far as I’m concerned, it’s well worth the $25.

What was the gun cleaning spray that destroyed the plastic grips?  I want to avoid it!!!

I’m NOT a fan of those grips but I DO like the way they look on that gun with the heavy barrel.   I’ve bought a couple of used 1911s with them on and unlike Knitepoet I take them off swiftly.  But hey at the end of the days it’s a personal choice!

Break Free Powder Blast. 

“Destroyed “ is too strong a word. It did mar them to the point I didn’t want to leave them on the gun.
