Shooting During the Covid

A few months ago, doctors found a tumor in my head and had to operated to remove it.  Thankfully, it was not cancerous.  But, I couldn’t shoot until doctors cleared me and my vision got back to normal.  The swelling causes double vision which gradually goes away.

When I tried to shoot- F me.  Everything was fogged up and I started cursing the scope.

Except ... the problem was not my crappy Sig scope.  The city passed an ordinance requiring the range to make shooters on the OUTDOOR range wear masks.  My mask was fogging up the glasses.

On a positive note, I shot ok despite a bit of double vision and I didn’t blow my face off with my hand loads.

Next up - 6mm ARC upper build should be completed in early January.

These idiots and their &$%* masking religion...
How is it worded? If you're lucky, its "mask or face covering" - in which case you can wear a safety shield like you use for an angle grinder - or a face veil like I do when I have to go to the bank which is the only place I have to go that insists on this nonsense.
I assume its enforced by the local "Mutaween" (google it), otherwise I ignore it.

@Uncle Fester, glad you doing better.  There are clips that have one sided tape to hole them on your face covering.  It holds it so your glasses don't fog.
Zorba can rant about something he knows nothing about medically, it wont fix your foggy glasses, those clips will.  They sell them on Amazon.

I bought an anti-fogging cloth from my optometrist that really works. I think it was $12.99

I know this damn masking religion is just that: A religion. Like all such, its a matter of faith, not facts. You might as well try to stop a swarm of mosquitoes with a chain link fence. Doesn't work, and no amount of wishful - or worshipful - thinking will change that.
Oh - and my doctor agrees, BTW. Look at the CDC infection map - locked down and completely masked California, for instance, is much worse off than wide open Florida. The causality has been debunked for months, yet people - and governments -  still parrot this stupidity.
But the maskers have their messiah coming - Biden is going to try to stuff it down everyone's throats. Fortunately, our governor is saying "We're not putting up with this crap down here." - at least thus far. Hopefully, he "holds the line".
This is all I'm going to say on the subject, as I try to avoid religious arguments - at least for Lent.

I use a camo mesh- half mask designed for hunting- the only thing that won't fog up my glasses-  also keep a grinding shield in the truck for OSHA purposes. I only wear them when I have to, usually when dealing with customers- I'm not going to complain about wearing a mask if a paying customer asks me to- even outdoors.

    .
Thanks.  My family has been very careful during this crisis.  S far so good despite having elder parents to worry about.

One of the side affects of the tumor is the ability to buy gun parts for new builds online.
