i think you are really late to the party.

you may want to head out to your local sporting goods shops and ask them if/when they get any in and then just hope you get there sooner than later - hint hint - and by the time you get up to the counter, they have a box or 2 left for you.

and once you see the price tag, if you get that lucky, then buck up.

    good luck

Getting a little ammo here in northern South Dakota. Gone quickly but at least some of the stores are getting a few boxes every week. There are some excellent YouTube vids about the shortage.

Unfortunately, many have waited until the zombie has a straw in their ear and is sucking their brains out to decide it might be wise to start preparing for the Zombie Apocalypse.

And, you're in California, so you were behind even before the current nonsense started.

Cast your net wide and look optimistically, but a Y-shaped stick, some bicycle inner-tube, and a handful of rocks may be your best bet at this point.

    Have you checked Turners Outdooresman?
Did a quick check and may have Aguila 40 S&W in stock.

At what price? Guess it doesn't matter if you actually NEED it. That's why I have gotten what I need at sale prices for the last 5 years.

It looks like Turner's is a good bet. Just find a store near you using the locator.

And then pick your ammo. Not a big selection but it looks like Aguila, Fiocchi and Underwood are still available in small numbers.

You'll have to use their filter. Select In Stock and 40 S&W.

California Residents: Customers purchasing ammunition online for in-store pick-up, must undergo a DOJ background check at your local Turner’s Outdoorsman. Unless exempted otherwise, CA law requires that ammunition sales/transfers take place in a face-to-face manner. Fees will be paid at the store when we run the check,...

Otherwise, you might want to consider learning to reload. A little late in the game but it's still good to know. Good hunting 👍
