Of what value is an impeachment at this time?

Or, invoking the 25th amendment? I can't wrap my head around this, is it just to further embarrass and harass President Trump, is it providing a legal basis to prevent him from running again, or is there something they want to prevent him from doing in the next 10 days? I would think with 10 days to go that the clock is too short to bother with doing anything.

I think it's more of a "channel marker" for future Presidents. I.E.  "Don't cross this boundary".

You've probably all heard the quote or seen the meme of Trump saying "They're not after me; they're after you.  I'm just in the way"

In discrediting Trump as much as possible, they're trying to smear the same stain onto his policies, his party, and all those that follow them so the whole lot can be painted and perceived as burn-at-the-stake-worthy witches.  This is long-game strategy for a far left game plan.

I am breaking one of my self promises and am watching CNN.  The debate over impeachment going on is a joke. Some of our elected officials sound like raving lunatics.  How Maxine Waters keeps being re-elected is beyond belief.  Listening to most of these people speak, we are in for a rough four years.

And I have a feeling that Mitch is going to let Biden have some time in office before setting the wheels in motion for a Senate conviction. Which prevents Trump from holding any office again. Which may have been the plan all along on both sides of the aisle.

Mitch is on record as saying he wouldn't reconvene the senate until 1/19, which is the day before the inauguration.  I'm not sure the senate has the votes to convict, but you never know with such a corrupt bunch as we have now.

Beyond this point, if they don't impeach him he could run again. That would split the Republican party and permit the Democrats to win again without opposition. The Republicans should go along with it.
