My mom developed sepsis late last week and she has been improving but she fell when she was at home that day and could not get back up due to left knee pain, they did a draw on her knee yesterday and there was bacteria so now they are dealing with septic arthritis and she has to have surgery today, ASAP, on the knee to clean out the infection, prayers would be appreciated.

She called from post-op, said she was fine, cant get any info since the surgeon went home and she was still not in her room, sucks not being able to be in the hospital.

They got her knee cleaned out arthroscopically and she slept alot better last night, less knee pain. Waiting on PT to show up and a visit from the surgeon and hospitalist this AM still.

Mom was doing better with some narcotics for the knee pain was sleeping better yesterday but her heart rate went up to 150 and her atrial fibrillation was acting up so they moved her to the cardiac unit at 4 AM this morning, they did another draw on her knee and it does have Staphylococcus in it still, they are continuing with the IV antibiotics, they are waiting to get a CT of her chest to see if she's having any pneumonia, some ongoing prayers would be appreciated

Mom is still dealing with it, the infection seems to be reacting to the continued IV antibiotics but it is ruining her intestinal flora and she feels like crap from that, knee pain is more manageable and she has been moving from bed to chair in her room, she has a persistent Afib that comes and goes but does respond well to low doses of the appropriate meds, SUCKS not being allowed to visit due to Covid.

That's my biggest anxiety with covid. The mandatory seperation. I hope you reunited asap.

Yeah, my mom is very social, way more than me, she is having some anxiety issues just being stuck without any interaction with friends and family, she is sleeping like crap.
