Got my Covid Vaccine
I was on three different lists in different cities for the COVID vaccine. Archer City called me yesterday, they said Henrietta hospital has 700 vaccines that had to go that day. My wife and I jumped in the truck and made the hour drive. We sat in a 1/2 to 5/8th mile line, though it only took about 45 min to make it through the line. I received the Pfizer vaccine, I go back in three weeks for the second shot. So far all I have is one sore shoulder.
Quick update. I went to my lung doctor for some tests in early Jan. During the exam he said he wasn't hearing air going into my right lung. He scheduled me for a CT scan and a Sniff test (live x-ray). Sure enough my right lung is elevated and my diaphragm is stuck in the open position. Not much they can do to fix it the x-ray doctor said. To say I was bummed leaving the hospital would be an understatement.
A week ago Friday I had my tele-visit with lung doctor. He confirmed my right lung isn't functioning and probably never will. He did say the diaphragm is stuck in the open position which means when I inhale some air goes in and the lung is healthy. He asked if in the past had I ever had a CT scan of my chest. I said yes but couldn't remember the year. He searched and pulled up my 2013 CT scan and my right lung was elevated and the diaphragm in the same position. The doc said chances are you've probably had this all your life and no one picked up on it. At least Covid didn't do it. My new CT scan showed minimal scaring on my lungs which was great. He closed with it's a miracle you made it off the ventilator with only one lung.
I'm getting stronger and walking more and doing well. Have a great weekend everyone!

Distance is not an issue, but the wind can make it interesting!

Does that mean that you may be able to dive again?
Sakodude,
I've heard number two can be bad. My wife didn't have any issues with the exception of a sore arm on both shots. I'm optimistic but ready for what comes with it.

The whole process has gone smooth here. We were scheduled for 8AM, got there a early and cars were backed up a little, but once they opened up everything flowed steadily. We were back home by 9AM. All things considered, I think the vaccination program is running better than expected! "Bidens" plan is working!!
I get my 2nd moderna shot Thursday
I only got mine because of where I work
Gun control laws make about as much sense as taking ex-lax to cure a cough.
First shot (administered in the AM) was a little bit of a sore arm and felt a little crappy the next day.
Second shot (also administered in the AM) gave me slightly sore arm kicking in later in the day and a mild fever of about two degrees over the night. Hesitated about going to work, but sucked it up and felt fine by 9:00am, apart from the sore arm.
Wife did a little worse with hers. All things considered, no big deal.

I take100mg of Zinc and double dose of D Vitamin every day and I think so far it's worked for me. No flu, no colds, no COVID
Good to go.

Took less than an hour. Seemed well orginized. People were relaxed and polite for a big city.
#2 comes in a month.
