Card games?

My middle son plays Magic the Gathering. So I’ve started to play a little just to do something he’s into. It’s an interesting game.

A few of my nephews play as well so the other day a new set of cards came out and they got together to open new packs of cards. My son opened a pack and there was a card worth $100 in it. I had no idea the value on some of these cards lol. So then they all launch into oh oh this card is worth X$. It was absolutely crazy. There’s a single card worth $16K and a group of 9 cards worth $60K.

It’s amazing what people will pay for somethings.

My youngest son used to live for Magic.  He's in his mid-30s now, and has outgrown it.  I never did understand it.  It wasn't as bad as Pokemon, though.  I think.

My son and daughter when through all of those.  Magic, Pokémon and such.  I remember a long time ago my wife spending $150 on one card for him for his birthday, and I was NOT happy.  I think he still has it and it’s worth a bit more than that.  I tried, but I never quite got into any of those games.

It’s definitely not as bad as some. Personally I enjoy it way more than video games.

They weren't my thing, and they were big when I was a kid, but you should get him to Google them.
There's some rare Pokemon cards that recently went for a few hundred thousand, might be worth looking into.

I'm a tournament Old Maid player, but the end is in sight as the term Old Maid is found to be gender insensitive.

And now that math has been deemed racist, what's going to happen to crazy 8s?
