Harrier Hawk nesting on my hunting stand
I was out checking on my two heifers that we’re getting ready to drop. One dropped her calf in the middle of the afternoon. Can’t get a good picture.
I’ve been seeing this harrier Hawk fly of my one of my open air hunting blinds. Went to take a peak. Three eggs on the seat. Not much to keep them warm underneath. I guess she knows what she’s doing. I’ll leave her be for a few weeks. Pretty cool!

Distance is not an issue, but the wind can make it interesting!

I once had a flying squirrel take up residence in my box stand. He wasn't bothered by my presence in the slightest, even going so far as to walk across my shoulders a couple times. I shot 4 deer that year from that stand while he was in it. At the shot, he'd take off like his butt was aflame, but he was back in the stand the next time I came back. Only one season, though. Always wondered what happened to that little feller.
