If you're worried about incoming fire from medieval projectile weapons. . .

I mean, sheesh!  I am the only guy that studies this stuff?  :D

    Think Agincourt.

What good is this joint if folks can't ask serious questions? Do I need a paid membership here to garner respect?

All you gun websites seem to be the same. Hostile toward non-paying newcomers. It makes me wonder if you all are under one corporate owner in Russia somewhere.
I don’t think we’re the only ones that keep bouncing him...

Nah.  The Neanderthals that could actually pull the draw weight on a real English war bow are pretty much extinct.  Then again, so are the guys that could pound out your diamond-plate undershorts. :D

Really though, the clown was asking about what to do when drawing against an already drawn weapon.  I think the correct answer to that is probably "Most likely?  You will die"

After that, can we discuss defense against multiple attackers, especially if they come at us in the Roman Testudo formation?

    Meh.

    Marbles. (Or ball bearings)

After the first couple of them slip and fall on them, their formation is "toast"
    :D

But how does one deliver the marbles?  Throw them?  Buford's catapult?  Trained chihuahua?
    Meh.

    This right here

Beyond the absurdity of the question itself, the simplest solution is to just move! (at  right angles to the shooter preferably)
On average a bow will launch an arrow somewhere between 225 and 300 feet per second (fps). A slow person can cover about 21 feet in 3 seconds (7 fps). A quick person can cover that distance in about 1.5 seconds (14 fps). Doing the math at 25 yards (75 feet) this gives you about 1/3 to 1/4 of a second to get out of the way. Add to that the reaction time of the guy with the bow (finally realizing that you're not just gonna stand still and make it easy for him, another 1/2 second) and the odds become increasingly lower that you'll be hit once you start moving, (3/4 second x 7 fps = 5.25 feet). If you stop moving, now you're a target again.
Folks who are skilled with a bow have a better chance of hitting a moving target but luckily not too many highly skilled bowmen out there looking to commit nefarious crimes.

Some olive oil, a bit of fire and yes, they would be.

Can I use Refined or Pure Olive Oil, or does it has to be Extra Virgin?

Best to use what you have to hand.
In my case, Kolymvari cold pressed extra virgin, I'm good.

sauce, pasta, garlic and oregano and the formation will fail
It's boring, and your lack of creativity knows no bounds.

Just wait out the long bow threat. They probably can’t hold it at full draw for a full minute
