South Carolina carry update

Excerpt from Just the News:

South Carolina Republican Gov. Henry McMaster has signed a bill into law allowing residents with concealed weapon permits to openly and visibly carry firearms in public.

The "Open Carry with Training Act" that McMaster signed Monday also makes South Carolina a "Second Amendment Sanctuary State" and will go into effect in 90 days.

"I will proudly support any legislation that protects or enhances a South Carolinian’s ability to exercise their 2nd Amendment rights, and that’s exactly what this bill does.

The law also waives the $50 fee to obtain a concealed carry permit. The law requires those seeking a concealed carry permit to be over 21, take over eight hours of training and pass background checks and fingerprinting

The most significant parts are the waiver of the $50 fee and the second amendment sanctuary status.  That usually means no state money can be used to enforce federal mandates.

Anybody else find irony in individual states working to protect the Federal Constitution which supposedly guarantees specific freedoms NATIONALLY. . . against overreach by the Federal Government?

Anybody else a mite peeved that the timing of this makes it appear to be a "See! We're opposing the other side!"  measure?  Wouldn't it be novel if they'd be as interested in working to preserve/restore our freedoms when they hold Congress and the White House, and could, you know, ACTUALLY DO IT EFFECTIVELY!

Swamp creatures. . .Maybe we need to elevate C.C.R.'s Born on a Bayou to a place alongside The Star Spangled Banner,  America, the Beautiful and the works of John Phillip Sousa in the national hymnbook. . .

One would think the federal idiots would see that The People are unhappy with what they are attempting, but they seem to be either too arrogant or stupid to understand

Its because the federal idiots are "true believers". True believers never care about anything other than their "truth".

Right now I am fearful of a number of rights being trashed.  It seems federal level legislative process was the first to go, now new law is a stroke of the pen from a white house occupant
