South Carolina carry update
Excerpt from Just the News:
South Carolina Republican Gov. Henry McMaster has signed a bill into
law allowing residents with concealed weapon permits to openly and
visibly carry firearms in public.
The "Open Carry with Training Act" that McMaster signed Monday also makes South Carolina a "Second Amendment Sanctuary State" and will go into effect in 90 days.
"I will proudly support any legislation that protects or enhances a South Carolinian’s ability to exercise their 2nd Amendment rights, and that’s exactly what this bill does.
The law also waives the $50 fee to obtain a concealed carry permit. The law requires those seeking a concealed carry permit to be over 21, take over eight hours of training and pass background checks and fingerprintingThe most significant parts are the waiver of the $50 fee and the second amendment sanctuary status. That usually means no state money can be used to enforce federal mandates.

Anybody else a mite peeved that the timing of this makes it appear to be a "See! We're opposing the other side!" measure? Wouldn't it be novel if they'd be as interested in working to preserve/restore our freedoms when they hold Congress and the White House, and could, you know, ACTUALLY DO IT EFFECTIVELY!
Swamp creatures. . .Maybe we need to elevate C.C.R.'s Born on a Bayou to a place alongside The Star Spangled Banner, America, the Beautiful and the works of John Phillip Sousa in the national hymnbook. . .
