ID some ammo for me!!

I have a large ammo can full of old surplus 30-06 military ball. I found a few strange looking ones I'd like to ID.
It has a silver looking bullet and the case head marking is F A 40. I'm thinking some sort of AP round?? Non-magnetic.

The silver bullet is for werewolves.

If its cupro nickel. Don't use it. It fouls the bore with severe metallic mess. It was so bad that it was common to dip the bullets in grease prior to long strings of fire in an effort to negate the fouling. Once accumulated, it was so bad, it could actually cause catastrophic structural failure of the rifle.

I agree. Frankford Arsenal military issue 1940.

With a cupro nickel bullet, probably, 150 grain (M1906 Ball). It was replaced, phased out by 1925 but it still showed up.
