What a brilliant way of expressing so much with just a few words.
"I know of no man that can rest easier under that flag than Basil Plumley."
Those words were said by Lieutenant General Hal Moore during his eulogy given on the occasion of the burial of Command Sargent Major Basil L. Plumley and I believe them to be arguably the best summary of a life I have ever heard. I know I will never be worthy of words like that said over my casket, but it sure is good to live in a country where some men have earned them, and they inspire me.
I think at a time like this in our history I'd like to start a thread about inspiring words with powerful messages if you gentlemen are so inclined. If you have a favorite(s) post them here. I hope we can keep this one going for a while.
