Kimber now makes a Glock……like handgun. Just announced today.

The new Kimber Mako. Looks nice! Kinda like a Glock and a Sig 365 got married…

The one issue I can find is they gave it that short grip which I find conducive to pinching when doing fast mag changes. That’s one of the reasons I went 43X over the SiG, BUT that also enhances concealment with the flush mags so there is that.

It also appears that the bore axis is high, while the trigger is low.. There's a lot of "meat" between the top of the trigger guard and the bottom of the slide, and it appears a lot of "meat" between the bottom of the slide and the center of bore axis. So while you might be able to get your hand high on the grip, your finger might be reaching down for the trigger. Again, maybe it's just the pictures. The only way to know would be to hold one and/or shoot it. I won't be rushing out to buy one. Especially since it won't fill a roll I don't already have covered.
I've worked with a few guns that are configured that way and actually I find it comfortable and naturally pointing and I like the way it pushes the recoil into the web of my hand. My old PPS was shaped that way and stupidly I sold that gun because I was on a 1911 kick. That was one of the most accurate and shootable guns I've ever owned. MUCH more controllable (for me) than the Glock 43 ever was.

Straight trigger
U-notch rear sight
Tritium sights! You don't want to appendix carry that - the radiation would be too near the wedding tackle
Lots of texture
Potentially high bore axis
Sold with a red dot (batteries!)
The back of the mag release is flat, but the scallop it sits in is round.
Looks like there's 7 rear serrations, while a mako shark has 5 gill slits.
Also, mako sharks are more blue than black...
What more can people not like?
I do find it interesting that the slide's not open on the top, but rather has the ejection port on the side (see photo). Some have said that will lessen the likelihood of stuff getting into the action when carried AIWB or IWB. That seems like it would be dubious. Kimber says it's to keep stuff from getting onto the optic, and that seems like a good idea.
It will be interesting to see if they get any better now that they left behind all the former eastern block commie machinist in New Jersey and settled down in Alabama.
I'm not paying that kind of money when my $199.99 dollar Ruger EC9s is one of the best kept secrets with a trigger out of the box that rivals anything. As long as I have 7 onboard I'm good to go. (and yes I do like a safety only wish it was ambidextrous as I pocket carry without a holster)

I learn my lesson well of trying to own something high end on a shoe string budget, once own a vehicle made by Mercedes. It was $25 dollars just to shake the mechanic hand. And the entire organization top down is shady.
Wow you just have to take a dive to the mud and get personal every time you are disagreed with right? Sorry if I don't go there with you.
So I understand, your basis for putting something down is that you can't afford it? Ok, now I know how to measure your opinions.
I like my Kimbers because they are outstanding, accurate and reliable guns. Price point means nothing to me unless I see a large gap in value/performance versus price. I don't see that with Kimber at all based on my own extensive personal experience with their products.
Thanks for your explanation!
