It dawned on me yesterday: as much of a train wreck as he and his administration are, there's no way this isn't by design. It's almost like they're trying to do the absolute worst job that they can. What an idiot.

Wow !    And so it begins.   And some think the ammo shortage and the high prices are all due to the 'plandemic',  I've been saying to myself for a few years now, the way they'll get to us is by disturbing the ammo chain.

Well, this just put a lot of people out of the gun hobby and all by design.

Well at least the Taliban will not have to worry about running low on ammo now!

Well I suppose that will include primers from Tula and others.
    Thanks Biden voters.
    That's all I got.

From most of the pictures I've seen lately, the Taliban are sporting 5.56 x 45 now anyway.  With ACOG included.

I'd imagine they paid much less for them than the US Taxpayers did.  Got some better roads tossed in as an added bonus.  Doesn't take near as long to go from A to B in Afghanistan as it used to a few decades ago.

Look on the bright side: ANTIFA is going to have a harder time getting ammo for their SKSes, AKs, and Mosins....

Guess that is why he hasn't had time to rescue Americans stranded in Afghanistan.

On a serious note, that is millions of rounds of ammo per year that is going away.  Beyond AK and Mosin ammo, the Russians keep ammo prices down in a number of calibers.

    You know what sucks?

When I bought the estate last year I passed on about 5,000+ rounds of commercial 7.62x39.

    That’ll teach me…

I'd venture a guess that for once virtually everyone reading this would agree that Donald Trump would never have done this.

    Just a guess.

Personal interest aside, if we're going to sanction the Russkies - and yeah, they do a lot of stuff that probably justifies sanctioning - I can't think of any areas in which we're sending their country more money than with sales of Wolf/Tula ammo.

What makes my eyes goggle is that the U.S. government responds with language stating that this is akin to the use of chemical weapons and WMD's, and uses this as grounds for restricting firearm and ammo importations.  WMD's?  Really?

Dear Russia, next time you want to rub out your internal dissidents, car and plane crashes, tragic drowning incidents, accidental overdoses, unfortunate combinations of prescription medications, victim of violent street crime, suicides, and just disappearing are all perfectly plausible covers, and the standards of quality the KGB used to be known for.  Better for your economy, and ours.  (Eyeroll)

We didn't just leave it.  We gave it to our allies, whom we promised to train and support.  They promptly said, I dont care who is in charge of the country.  They did the kiss on the cheek and laid down their arms and went back to herding goats and making satellite dishes from garbage can covers
The Taliban took everything, took over the country and is killing all those that still oppose them.
See, we didnt just leave it 😁

Maybe on a pipeline?? Ammo sales are a fart in a windstorm compared to the funding we provided by bailing on every proven energy reserve and not selling our stuff to Germany. Biden provided Putin a steady stream of locking in income from Europe. Now that he has done away with any faith that our allies had for us, he even managed to make the Canadians angry and not just the geese, and Russia is sitting pretty with arms wide open to collect their cash.
There are other markets, and other places of production than the US.
