I wonder if you could set your clothes on fire when fired from retention with that pistola?

You just need the special suit to go with it.

Also as an update. An extremely generous forum member is sending me a chronograph that he has. I am very thankful AND I'll be able to get some velocity data for @Zee. I'm curious myself after seeing that fireball from the porting 😄

You mean to tell me that a huge fireball protruding out the top of your pistol, 2' from your face doesn't appeal to you?

Well I got the chronograph the other day, courtesy of Rafterman. I took it in the shop today, set it up according to the instructions and tried to get a velocity on the aforementioned glock but it wouldn't pick up. I fiddled around with the plugs and found that I had them backwards, corrected it and still no reading. Probably something I'm screwing up but can't guarantee I'll figure it out before my customer picks up his gun.

Oh yeah, finished product. I really like how the serrations turned out. I did H&K black cerakote also.

What kind of chronograph did you get?
The one I have usually requires a relatively sunny day, overcast days sometimes don't cut it. For indoor use I need special lights for it to trigger properly so I usually just use it outside on sunny days. Been thinking about getting a magnetospeed type but been dragging my feet on that one for a variety of reasons. Mostly because I shoot compact handguns.

Yeah, a chrono inside typically needs a light rack, I believe.

It was/is a NOS RCBS Ammomaster. Zee and Spk are correct that you will need more light to get the bullet to cast a shadow and trigger the chronograph.

To reduce slide mass (along with the top slide cut out), this is a way to compensate for reduced velocity loads/reduced recoil impulse. They do this in competition often enough so they can use lighter loads and springs both fast and reliably. It's a balancing act. Sure doesn't look pretty. I'm guessing there could be some measure of coolness factor in there somewheres.
