Think it was a 98 yard shot or something close.
Interesting.  I always thought they’d fall apart at .35Rem speeds.  Good to know!

It's hard to peg one, but I have a lot of great memories tied to my Remington 700 Classic 7mm08:

    - Joint gift from parents and grandparents
    - Numerous deer hunts
    - First antelope
    - First elk
    - The hunting gun I grab when I'm not sure which gun to take or didn't have much prep time
    - Sub MOA with several readily available factory loads
    - Sports purposeful modifications that have been added as my hunting needs/tastes evolve

    - I am a rifleman with a poorly chosen screen name. -

Another I’ve loved since an early age, the Ruger Redhawk.
Wanted one starting around age 12.  Worked all summer trying to save up enough for one. Just could t afford it and got a Deerfield Carbine instead.
Didn’t get to scratch that itch until a few years ago in a trade with another forum member. Dream complete.

I’ve taken some pigs with it so far. Do love this gun.

Early 60’s 1894 Winchester made down the road from my apartment in New Haven.   I have a west Hartford Colt, New Haven Mossberg and a Hamden High Standard.

The Winchester is my favorite but I still haven’t found a Connecticut Marlin I love.

Hard question.  Today, if not my favorite, among my favorites is my Darne SxS 20 gauge.  It's not engraved and while plain, it's attractive to me because of the action, which is the mark of a Darne.  In 20, it's fairly unusual.  French, and they say the French copy no one and no one copies the French.  I like it because it's unusual.  They seldom come up on auction, although I didn't get this on auction.
