After a few cleanings my SA 1911 I believe the lugs and need some light grease. Any suggestions?

I use high temp bearing grease that I got for my boat trailer.  One HUGE tube is like $8 and will last me 3 lifetimes.  I apply it thin with a cheap watercolor brush.  I like it because it’s sticky and stays where I put it.

I use whatever I can reach. Oil, grease, Imperial wax, graphite spray. I try not to use too much. A little dab will do ya.

Not a fan of grease for the primary operating bits, as it only collects powder & carbon and gets stiffer in place.  I run the rails, feed pawl, & barrel lugs fairly wet with Break Free, plus a drop on the disconnector tip and down the gap formed by holding back the hammer to get a bit on the sear engagement surfaces.  It dissolves the crud and let's it flow out of the way.

The internal coil springs (mainspring, mag catch, and plunger tube) get  packed with a bit of grease as a moisture barrier.  A smear of the same coats the combination sear spring.

I actually prefer Way oil. It's a very sticky lube used on my two lathes for bearing surfaces such as between the ways and the tailstock, hence its name.
