    Wow! I didn't know that. Apparently they didn't hold their own for much longer.

    I knew I felt a cold wind from the NW today. The Arthur M Anderson still steams the lakes.

    Just saw the Arthur M. Anderson upbound through Straits a couple of weeks back...still looking great after all these years...

    Pretty amazing how long they last.
    The Roger Blough and Wilfred Sykes were also on Superior that night.

    This painting entitled "Where are they?" depicts the Arthur M.Anderson and the William Clay Ford searching for the Fitz and her crew...

    They were the only two ships whose Captains had the balls to leave the safety of Whitefish Bay to search

    Nice! I hadn't seen that before. Capt Cooper was impressive in his skill and experience. I believe his account of events carries serious weight.

    IIRC that storm also took human life in the land locked Midwest as it raged across the continent.

    From what I've no seen online. The boats are running near year round now.
