Actually it hit 70 here today too. But I’m still by the ocean. Move got pushed back to Saturday now 😭
That’s tough!
It’s gonna be a heck of a weekend. We’ve been packing every day for over a week. Movers won’t take guns and ammo so I had to take a BUNCH of my stuff to my buddies LGS where I do the CCW classes so I can store it there and move a little every time I come back to teach. Just unloaded what felt like a ton of military green cans full of ammo, and reloading components. You have any idea what even a small ammo can full of .58 cal lead balls weighs? I’m chewing Motrin like it’s candy!
Saturday I’m taking a load of guns to the store that he’s storing for me. Funny because he’s keeping them more than 1 day they have to be logged in to his book and then I have to 4473 my own stuff back to myself 🤣.
The truck comes on Saturday to pack us up, I have class all day Sunday and then I drive 6 hours to the new place, get there LATE so I can get up at dawn to meet the truck to unload…. This is gonna suck…
That's not true. Not if you're the one dropping them off and picking them back up. Only required as a "transfer" unless he's selling them on consignment.

This.
That’s why you can take a gun to a gunsmith for work and pick it back up without a 4473.

I don’t know if anything is different because he’s a store and not a gunsmith but anyway he’s doing me a huge favor so I’m not going to debate him on this one. He’s a long time friend and I trust him. He’s even letting me have my own safe in his store.
I stored my firearms at the gun shop while I was off hunting for a month....had to go through the same thing...all my guns had to go into his bound book and I had to do 4473s to get my own guns back...felt bad enough that I gave him $100.00 just for all the trouble...

No NICs requirement since I have a CC permit we skip that step in NC. That and I have my C&R on file with him so between the two I’m well covered. I’m like the most legit guy in the world 🤣🤣🤣
Is it an ATF requirement or an insurance thing? Insurance might not pay for anything off the books?
Atf requires anything that stays overnight to be entered into the ffl holders book, but a 4473 is only required of the original owner if the ffl holder was holding the guns for consignment or if a different person is picking them up than dropping them off.

No coats, long sleeves, long pants during daylight savings time even though we don’t do DST in AZ But need to acclimatize for winter steelhead next month. Nothing like wading almost waist deep glacier runoff in December to test ones metal oh please lord no boot leaks

Lowest I’ve ever had here was in 2011, -9 degrees… Things here aren’t made for that kind of cold…. Including me.
