Hearing Protection for Home Defense?

I have not read an article about wearing or not wearing electronic hearing protection for home defense. Any thoughts on this.

If you are addressing your question  to the magazine staff...this ain't  the place for that....BUT...this is a worthwhile topic for discussion here.
My thoughts? Having discharged a number of weapons indoors, wearing some hearing protection, if you have time to use it...isn't the worst idea....

I am trying to understand the pros & cons of electronic hearing protection in a home invasion scenario.

The only "con" that comes to mind is the time it takes to don that hearing protection in a situation where seconds really count....

Some are non-directional and therefore, you may not know the direction of a sound.

This.  If they are going to be a part of your HD plan make sure you have a unit that will enhance your capabilities.  Some like Walkers Quads have 4 microphones and do a great job of giving you sound direction.  Some of the cheaper units only have one which will seriously diminish your ability to discern direction.
