Bought a new gun from the PX

It's a Chiappa M1-9, a replica of the M1 Carbine, that is chambered in 9mm and takes Beretta 92 mags. They'll let me know when it's ready to pick up at Redstone.

Have not heard anything great about Chiappa, and I have not ever shot one either, the one you picked was interesting for sure though, hope it a good one.

Chiappa to me is like Taurus was to Big Chief! My experience was short and painful. Hopefully, they've improved their QC and it turns out to be a fun and reliable shooter for you. Looking forward to a range report!!

Hope it shoot well for you. 9mm carbines are just a lot of fun. My old marlin Camp 9 brings a smile to my face every time.

I've never owned a Taurus but know people who have and I won't buy one. After reading this I went back and did some more research minus the "oh ****! look what i found" feeling and decided to spend my money on something else. I called and cancelled the order and ordered another of which I will not expose on here until the range report.

I REALLY wanted one as I have a 92fs and some mags so it would have been a no brainer. The reviews though said no bolt hold open which is a huge deal breaker. z

Got the PCC Carbine instead. Very happy.

I brought this home from the PX today. I took her out in the back yard and ran a 15 round mag thru and she shoots. 
Century arms nk9. Takes glock mags and came with the 33 round. I bought a couple 15 round.

Oh, that is way better than a Chiappa, Glock makes a 24 rounder and magpul also makes something in that range, FYI. Needs some optics and a range report please. How long is the barrel?

The barrel is 11in. Overall length is 19in. I'm planning a range day soonest. I'm itching to go for I haven't been on the range in a while.

The fun part was getting it out of the PX. It's a 2hr one way ride to Redstone for us. We hadn't been to the big PX in 10 years so Sylv planned on doing some shopping. She found out how much the pistol cost. She went straight to the make place. It's a big one. I headed to the gun counter. Told the worker I was to pick up my gun and it started. The PX had about 8 forms for me to sign added to the atf form which was digital. Plus the worker is having to go here and there for different actions he had to take for every form I signed. After a while the gun was mine and I was ready to go. Sylv was still shopping. I was going to wander around in sporting goods while she finished up. Nope. No can do. I have to leave the store with the gun. I could sit in the truck with the gun, not in the store. That did save me some money, I called Sylv I had to out and she cut her shopping off. 

I hope to get to the range. They had a 2 box limit on ammo so I got 2 ball and 2 sd. I need more 9mm ammo.

Yup! You have to leave the store then check in at the gate as you exit, so they know you left! So if you go to the bx to buy a gun, that's all you will do that trip!!

I was supposed to check out at the gate?

Was at Patrick AFB a couple weeks ago and they had no guns I wanted to buy.

Might just be Tyndall policy!! I know you get escorted out of the store to your vehicle

Sounds like Rural King I've got several guns from them and it always cracks me up they escort me out with un unloaded gun in the box with no ammo but I'm carrying a loaded whatever

The whole thing was government CYA. The escorted a customer with a functioning firearm and 200 rds of ammo to the door. No one made sure I left the PX/Commissary premises, they said I could wait in the truck. The gate guard scanned me in, as with all, but had no idea when I left.
Just like NBC training. "We trained them and have the paperwork".

Agree. Same with Cabela's and Scheel's  Been awhile since I've bought from Sportsmans Warehouse so I can't remember if they did the same. I imagine a crazy could go to the camping isle grab a hatchet or machete and.................

I have bought a few guns from Scheels at the mall in Minot along with ammo and when paid for walk out into the mall and wherever I want to go from there.
