Squib loads

I have 9 mm reman shells from Oak Island Ammo.  3 of them in one lot, so far, have been squib loads and stuck in the barrel.  I've never had a squib load before and 3 in the course of 2 hours from these.

Fortunately no failures or injuries.

What should I do w the remaining shells?  Shoot them?  Get rid of them?  I probably have 2000 rounds from Oak Island and I hate the thought of trashing all of that but their quality concerns me greatly and I don't want to awe am injury.

I would be in touch with the company and raise holy 4377. It sounds like those loads didn't get powder in the case. It is a major QC concern and could put them out of business. I would demand all the rounds I purchased be replaced and a significant payment, in return, in ammo.

20 years ago, I had a problem with PMC rim fire ammo. I contacted the company and described my problem. I had bought 1/2 a case of their 22lr ammo. I was treated in a condescending manner, so I went to a range with multiple firearms and recorded the results. I sent them the duds and data. I received far more than I had spent on the 1/2 case, an apology and a great education on how .22 ammo is made.

If you receive less, I would contact the ATF.

Fortunate that there was no damage or injury.

Do contact the company and work something out.

Thanks much Freezer.  I've had many 22 duds but never a 9 mm squib lodging in the barrel.  Fortunately rhey barely left the casing so there was no room for a round behind it, else there would have been a failure and serious injury.

I contacted Oak Island as suggested.  They are sending a shipping label and replacing the remaining 1600 rounds.  They have been helpful.

I'd want more than a replacement!

    Why?
Concealed carry is for protection, open carry is for attention.

As an apology and good faith gesture from the company. It would insure the customer was happy with the company, would say good things about their CS and commitment to the customer. It's good for business. Bad news always travels faster, further, and longer than good news.

In addition, they should have a recall on that batch of ammo before some gets hurt! Something went wrong. It sounds like there's no powder in those cases.

PMC gave me a great education on how their 22 ammo was made and what went wrong, then they paid for the research I did with not only replacement ammo but a variety of other 22 ammo they make including some match ammo. That's customer service!

Ruger and Leupold also have great customer service.

This is in contrast with Burris. I've had three of their product and had trouble with all three. Their CS wasn't good, I'll never buy another one of their products, and I'll bad talk them to anyone who has ears.

Think of the reputation Taurus has, how long do you think it will take before the shooting world says, "That's a good company"? How about Remington?

Customer service is excellent damage control.

I think the company showed good CS by replacing the ammo and paying the freight.  Not much more could be asked.
