Covid, paxlovid and kill me now.

Finally got the bullet. Got Covid on Friday 8/5. Tested positive. Doc gave me the paxlovid blister pack. OMG. They really gloss over it is going to make your mouth taste like crap for the whole time you take it. Flossing, brushing, and gargling doesn't help. You know that really bitter horrible OJ and toothpaste taste? Only 100 times worse. Tastes like burnt grapefruit and soap.

Seems to be working as I am halfway through the 30 pills. Joy.

I've had covid three times, the first was the worst. I was vaccinated months prior by it still almost killed me. I would have been grateful that blister pack. The second two infection were like a moderate cold.

    Heal well

Don't get me wrong. I totally am very grateful for the medicine, but just warning people about 'death mouth'.  I have had worse colds, though not many. It was a mix of cold and flu at different time. Still weak but over the hump. Looks like the wife has it now. She has a much stronger immune response.

    Great the medicine is helping!!!

I felt like death warmed over for three days alternating from living under 3 thick blankets shivering uncontrollably to kicking them off and sweating like I was in the dessert.  Mine went full active during a flight back from Milwaukee and by the time I landed in the evening I could NOT do the 2.5 hour drive home still ahead of me so I got a hotel room for the night, slept 10 hours, took a hot shower next morning, drove home and crawled into bed as soon as I got into the house.  Wife knew so she already had a guest bedroom ready for me.   Didn’t matter, both her and her mother got it within two weeks.  The stuff at the beginning of the year was crazy contagious.

After the chills/sweat stretch it almost magically went away with just joint pains and general weakness for a few weeks.  Never really got the crazy cough some folks get but lungs did the gurgle for a bit.  Lord that whole experience sucked, but luckier than many for sure.
