General views on secure storage at home

Hi, I am a new poster here. I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place to ask these questions so mods please just move it to the necessary spot.

I have a question about views on the appropriate storage of house guns around the interior and exterior of the home. We all have our bedroom gun of course and I won't lie and claim that I've cradled it before. But then I have the other house guns to worry about. So, after my bedroom gun I have by bathroom gun, a small .22 revolver taped on the back of my toilet bowl. Well the of course there is my dressing room gun, just a simple bolt action rifle I keep around in case and occasionally fire out my dressing room window at possums or other varmints.

Moving downstairs to get coffee and breakfast I have the kitchen gun and the dinette room gun, respectively a .99mm Lugar and a vintage .22 long barrel revolver with a stock extension by Colt - my favorite. At this point moving outside I have my 'porch gun', a breach loaded 20 gauge double barrel revolver. Of course then there is the garage gun which is a hastily made series of AR-15s tied to the brake line of a Ford Interceptor which I think functions.

In any event my question is in a home invasion where do I appropriately store all the ammo for this? Do i store it with the gun in question or is it more like in Resident Evil where you get the ammo and the gun at different times during the game? Should I ask the neighbor's teenager to come over and hide ammunition throughout the home and then have him pretend to be a home invader so I can safely find all the ammunition and weapons and health points to repel an attack?

    Welcome (back???)

First off, the location of any firearm that may be outside of a locked safe, if there are any, is no one's business that doesn't live here.

Secondly, How may home invaders are you preparing for?

Personally, I feel that any HD weapon I have SHOULD  have enough ammo in/on it to keep  the home invader(s) at bay until either a) I can access a more appropriate weapon, b) the police arrive or c) I've resolved the situation to my satisfaction

I'm talking about home invaders that are too stupid to know what they are doing but to also make a game of it. So I actually own a legit mansion. Have you ever played Resident Evil? Or watched The Haunting of Hill House (or read the book)? It's like that. And I am trying to figure out a way to store my ammunition, guns and first aid kits in different parts of the mansion so as to make the game more fun for me and the intruder.

The problem is I can't hide the ammunition myself because I'd know where it is and there would be no sport. So I thought the neighbor's kid could come over and hide the weapons and ammunition throughout the property so when there is a break in all bets are off and I go full Jamaican.

Also I have dogs. Does that matter in this scenario? Should I train my dogs to bring me the dog guns?

At the end of the hallway just inside my bedroom door sits a 1860s Gatling gun just waiting to have its crank turned.

    One bed and one bath

Just how small is this castle ?

    Regardless
When defending a castle you get the higher end home invaders.
They'll have body armor and such so thus far all your guns are pretty useless.

    Think John Wick here.

I believe in a layered defense.

Punji pits and bear traps inside of that.
Swinging and falling man traps in the house.

Why worry about it? Just hire guards like the rest of the elites.

I just had to read this again!  :D:D:D

I need to get a ".99 Lugar" and a "breach loaded 20 gauge double barrel revolver".

He needs to watch the "Godfather" again to see how they guard their mansions, but he has the toilet thing down. If he has an out house, he could play the Billy the Kid scenario.

Are you OK in the head? I don’t get this post, because it is a mockery of having a gun ready for defense.

I miss the old forum structure with the larger selection of emojis to choose from.

In this instance, I am especially missing the one with dark circles under disbelieving eyes and the ribbon of drool trailing from the corner of the mouth.

Maybe one of his "hastily made series of AR-15s tied to the brake line of a Ford Interceptor" went off and he crashed?
I forget which rifle I tied to my brake line. . .🤔
    That's all I got.

That would be a very unique re-definition of "stopping power". . .
