Macular Degeneration

I have it and yes its the square needle in the eye, hope none of you ever get it, if you do a few words of advice, if your regular eye doc finds it get a 2ed opinion from a Retina Specialist, youll be glad you did, there tests are far more intense than your normal opthalmologist, got my first eye injection this morning, need 2 more a month apart

Clean had it in the right eye---they did not work.

Now has Macular edema in the left eye. So far the shots prevent her from walking into a bolder----eye sight, 20/400 and she is legally blind.

Sorry to hear of this.

Some time back my retina specialist told me I had macular degeneration, acted like it is what it is, can't do much about it now. 

Doctor recommended B&L AREDS 2 Vitamins, which I take religiously.

During the intervening years the Dr has never said another word about Macular Degeneration. 

Misdiagnosis? Vitamins effective? Who knows, but I do recommend the AREDS 2 vitamins on general principal, might help, can't hurt.

my mom got it in the 90's.  Back then they didn't have treatments or therapies.  Four five years before she passed, she had a collide a scope of colors and shapes for vision.  Such an awful disease, I'm sorry you have it!

I started taking AREDS 2 Plus last week ,2 a day, got them from the eye doc there not B&L their "Eye Promise" same thing ??  my eye doc wanted me to have 4 shots/injections a week apart, talking to family and friends some with MD I got a 2ed opinion at a retina specialist, 1 shot a month for 3 months and re evaluate at that time. FWIW when all this started i had a black spot in the corner of my R eye, kinda weird didnt have it one day ,woke up the next and had it, since the shot it seems to be diminishing and gray instead of black, what i have is "Wet MD" , the retina doc showed me the broken blood vessel in the eye. I was also told i might have to become Left eye dominate , does that mean i have to buy wrong way guns ??, keep ya posted.
