Just plain curiosity, shoe/boot laces, Over or Under?

Boot lacing the bottom eyelets.  I was taught under from childhood but every once in a while I get shoes/boots and they are laced over on the bottom set of eyelets.  Don't know if it makes a practical difference but I have to undo them and re-lace the shoes before I wear them (OCD or something more serious?!?!) or it'll drive me nuts.   The ones on the right look...  "wrong" to me.

Just did it again today and I got to wondering if it's a thing with other folks....

    Nor do my Merrell's.
    In fact, I may have bought my last lace up shoes years ago.

    All my tennis shoes, work and hunting boots are laced under, the only ones that are over are a new pair of Dockers, all dress shoes are slip on's, I don't have any flip flops or crocs, i do go barefoot most of the day.

    I'm one of the under laced crowd, agree it probably makes no difference, but they seem easier to tighten that way, and it would just bug the hell out of me to have them over.
    Also lets me lace my shoes to suit my feet.

    Nope…. Hell I don’t even wear crazy socks anymore.  Went to a high level meeting tonight in shirt, jeans and boots…. Take it or leave it.  I’ll never dress up again 😁

    Over, and then right over left. I also tie a knot in the center of the laces so they don't wander/slide too much.
