Couple of preschool boys got ahold of my non-led Surefire E2D at the hunting shack when they found it in my bunk and left it on, did not want to come on with a battery change so I finally got ahold of Surefire CS and explained what happened, not sure why it chose to give up the ghost with the preschoolers since I have had it for 10 years without any problems, but they figured it was the lamp assembly and sent a new one, no charge, way out of warranty. Good as new again.

Good to know!  I have that same light.  Way better tech out there today but damn that thing is built like a brick outhouse and I'll never give it up!  Lives in my Jeep now.

It is a good light for brightness and TSA does not give it a second glance to carry on a plane, although, I did have it come on in my carry-on bag one time and it was making the fabric smoke from the heat of the bulb, a nice guy passing me pointed it out and did not let me cause a scene at the airport :D
I *think* you can order a new LED lamp assembly for it...

One of the trainers I work with likes to toss his well worn Surefire Stiletto on the floor to show how tough they are to trainees, and how important it is to have a good light when it counts.  One particular time he must have been slightly too energetic, or it landed just right and the lamp assembly broke.  He called Surefire to have it replaced at his own expense and told them exactly what he does, why and how it broke.  They said it doesn't matter and they repaired his stiletto for free.  Good folks!!!

    Good to know!
I put an inexpensive LED bulb in my 6P and would consider it a must have.
It can also run the LiOn rechargeable batteries. Also a must for me. Not sure about the original lamp.
Oh yeah, I also replaced the stupid twist-to-operate tailcap. It's now a pushbutton.
🤔 I wonder if they make bayonets for the 6P?? 🤔
    That's all I got.

First off, that's a stellar light for what it is. I have one as well.

Surefire has always been a stellar company in my experience. I lost one of the cross slots for my X300U/A to allow solid mounting to a Glock handgun. I emailed them asking to purchase the pieces I needed, and instead they just sent them to me free of charge.

Good people take care of good people.

And folks wonder why I pay the “extra” for companies like Surefire.
